all this for how little
I have been a flight sim fan since 90s, and as always microsoft flight has been the goto, yes expensive but you got great per incarnation graphics and upto 40 aircraft. then I BOUGHT THIS...... Flight gear on a memory card !!!! what do you get? no dvds to damage, just plug into usb port, faster download, no disc swapping, a flight sim you actually need to learn not just hit E and take off, a claimed (i havent downloaded all) 400 planes, no 40 on disc then buy extra at cost of game per aircraft, aircraft and airport/scenery quality very close to MSFX, Now the hitter, as new release, this comes in at one 7th the price of MFSX. I have switched permanently.

Read The Manuals
This is a tough flight sim to get to grips with. It really isn't easy and you really do have to learn to fly, how to start engines on various aircraft, learn what controls do what etc etc by reading through the manuals. It is very much like real flying. I have a Thrustmaster joystick and it's great for flight sims with the major controls working straight out of the box but it does need careful button mapping for Flight Gear. If I am completely honest, I bought Flightgear purely because it was much cheaper than the Microsoft flight sims but it is so much harder to get to grips with. Time and patience will obviously stand you in good stead but if you don't have that patience then this is not for you. The graphics are not brilliant, a bit dated looking and when looking down at the houses/buildings/airport/trees and other scenery etc ... its all a bit blocky and "meh". I have downloaded more scenery etc but hasn't seemed to make much difference. I have a relatively up to date pc with Intel i5 14400 processer, 32gig ram, RTX4050 graff card so should run the game and render the scenery exceptionally well so the specs are not an issue. This is definately as described in the advertising paraphernalia so I have no complaints but there is definately more involved in getting this to a satisfactory playing level than the MS Sims. I like it but it's very time consuming getting the best out of it.

Good value for the amount of technical content
This is a real authentic product and contains realistic data I am at the moment on a leaning curve to input the actions required to set it up I have a a joystick that needs to link to initiate commands and the instructions are available but detailed and I have found a little confusing. in particular obtaining the soundI will nee to print the sequence of inputs from the manual

Not good
very hard to use, Do Not buy unless you have any idea about using a flight sim. The instructions are not very clear either

Superb graphics, 100s of downloadable aircrafts which take only seconds
Very good simulator, great graphic's , The A300 class is brilliant, but you need a bit of knowledge on how to turn on batteries and engines, could do with a manual just for that, Its not far off MFSX.Would recommend.

Poor quality
It was poor quality and waste of my money. I would not recommend.
User
Not easy to use.
Nice graphics but difficult to navigate around. You do need a high spec computer to get the real benefits and you will struggle to fly and control aircraft.
