Cat Days (Penguin Young Readers, Level 1)

My child can read, but is hesitant to do so. This book gave her confidence to read. We checked it out at the library so many times I surprised her with her very own copy. Happy Girl!

I couldn't figure out how to make the pop out feature work on my iPad, but reading the story was very easy. The writing was reminiscent of the "Dick and Jane" books I learned to read from as a young child, so I enjoyed reading this book. The artwork was cute and simply done.At the beginning of the book is a description explaining what this book offers. According to the publisher and/or author, the book is written for an "Emergent Reader" who can read from left to right and top to bottom progression. The publisher and/or author offers some activities that can be done after reading the book. Those activities include learning word families and story extension ideas.Recommend.Penmouse

My 4 year old loves this book. She is newly reading and this is a perfect first book as the sentences are simple and clear. This was the first book she ever read all the way through and she was overjoyed by the experience.

My nephew is staying the weekend at my house and his father called and told me that he was trying to get him to read a book every day but forgot to pack him one. I found this book and downloaded it. I was super happy it was free because my nephew doesn't live with me so I wouldn't want to spend money on a book I'm going to delete as soon as he leaves.He did great reading the book and it was short enough that he didn't get bored halfway through and long enough that he still got to read a variety of sentences. The pictures were cute and the it was a cute concept but wasn't gender specific so I didn't have to spend time looking up a "boy" book. Thanks a ton!

Perfect book for my 6 yr old to read on her own. Highly Recommend to anyone with kiddos that are learning to read or have started to read.

This book is loaded with sight words and perfect for emergent readers. It's also super quick, so it's great for getting a little one to sit still for a few minutes.

This is a great beginning reader, with simple words and repetition. The book is broken out into multiple stories, making it feel as long as more challenging reads. I bought this for my classroom library (I teach 1st grade).

My daughter loves this book. Great for children who are learning how to read.
