Amazing Lens
This is one fantastic lens!. Great optics, fast focus, sharp, excellent color, robust but light. I shoot indoor social events and lately outdoor sporting events. Over the years, I have gained a healthy distain for carrying a multitude of lenses just in case occasion calls for it. 18mm -400mm has replaced all of my optics gear. Wide angle at 18mm when in doors. Phenomenal Zoom magnification from one end of the soccer of filed to other. The lens is stable and adjusts quickly to moving targets. F/Stop range is better than most. I couldn't be more pleased with this lens. Highly recommend for any level experience photographer.

put it on a canon not good with a converter
I got this lens as my 100/400 Sony was faulty on arrival and it's replacment a Tamron 150/500 not to my liking as 150mm not wide enough .This however covers 24/600 on a Sony with canon/Emount converterAs I thought of sending it back I tried a friend's Conon to test it and found it just as slow to reach focus. Then I watched a klick review of the rf D2000 he said focus was slow and a starting out camera. But I only wanted a cheap Canon that the 18/400mm come 24/620I had got it already for less than £300 . Reading the paperwork I found a quick mode in the settings and yes it's faster and dose the job But obviously a faster more modern Canon would be better .I will have fun with it anyway and like the popup flash that's not available on my Sony cameras.I was looking for a r canon small manual 20mm lens to try Hyper focus and Zone focus photography and found an Emount version I have coming soon so when paid may get one for the Canon at 35mm for some exploring an out of comfort zone of photography.only £79 each worth a bit of fun especially if they work ok

Great Value for Cost
The Tamron lens is pretty good value for the cost. Because of the wide focal range you get about 90-95% sharpness in every range. It won’t give you the best photo quality at full zoom but macro shots are pretty good. Low light is a bit challenging but sunny days are perfect. The autofocus can be frustrating and inaccurate at times; I prefer to use the manual focus option. It’s a great starter lens for those looking to play with telephoto zoom lenses. For better sharpness and picture quality I would go with a more advanced lens. IS gets iffy at full zoom so unless you have really still hands a tripod is recommended, especially for action shots.Overall it’s a great lens to play around with and what you get for the cost is well worth the investment. I would recommend this lens for beginner to intermediate photographers.
