Solid Construction, Nice Options For The Price
Limited use so far, but it seems like a great little monitor. Loads of options, very solid construction. I wish it was available with a PanasonicD54-type adapter (several other battery "sleds" are available from Lilliput), but we sourced one elsewhere that works just fine. I'm finicky about some field monitor functions, like focus peaking, but so far this monitor has proven to be a good performer.

Decent monitor, room for improvement
I don't have a ton of other field monitors to compare this to overall, so I will simply offer a couple of observations.Power -I have used this on a few shoots and the main thing I would have liked to see is some sort of battery level indicator. The interchangeable plate is nice and the battery life is decent, but you get no warning before the battery dies. The colors freak out and flash purple, and then it goes dead. Obviously, using a higher capacity battery will make this happen less often.Display -The display is easily sharp enough to pull focus on and large enough to help with composition; but definitely too large for any sort of run and gun application. It fits well in a controlled shooting situation. The screen is also very reflective, and depending on the environment the included hood may not help much. Getting a non-reflective screen cover will likely be a big improvement.Exposure and Focus Assist -The 1:1 pixel display was less useful than I had hoped, partly because it is already a very high resolution screen. The focus peaking, false colors and histogram work okay, but are not as accurate as what comes out of my camera (Sony FS700). They could be quite helpful with a camera that doesn't already have these features, but otherwise it makes more sense to use one consistent set of displays - the ones already on your camera. In fact, the way I prefer to use this monitor most is solely for composition with all displays turned off. That way I have my camera's LCD for display info and the larger screen above for composition and for the client or director to see the shot.Color Accuracy -I have yet to figure out how to properly calibrate this thing with color bars. If someone knows, please leave a comment. In the meantime, I am eyeballing it and not depending on it too much for accuracy.Summary -All in all, this is a very inexpensive monitor for what it offers. At the time of this writing, no other product offers 1280x800 IPS at this price point. So I am pretty forgiving of the above shortcomings. If you need rock solid color accuracy and assist features, you should invest in something better. If you just need something to compose shots with and let the client or director see the shot; this is a great buy.

Heavy and poor quality picture
Too heavy and cumbersome. Picture quality is very poor.

Big disappointment.
False color is way off scale. Have tried calibrating with color bars but that doesn't change the false color... Don't see any way to adjust. Will not be able to use this in the field anymore. Maybe it's just as well because it's too heavy. I will use this in the studio when doing self video just because it's large and I can see it from 5 feet away or so. Big disappointment.

pretty good not as solid as IKAN or better prodcucts
I like this thing a lot. it has a pretty decent picture and works well for most things. It looks like the resolution is not quite on par with more expensive models to me. I have used a SMALL HD and the IKAN and Marshal. It's close and I bought it as a good starter for a kit I was building and it definitely does the job. Not quite as elegantly but very usable.
