The one I received was spot on, read this to know how to be sure yours is
The quick answer is this tool is spot on with the indentations showing โlowโ and โhighโ. But a bit of explanationโฆ if you search for gears magazine fluid level quick check gauge youโll get an even better explanation. If you were to make your own dipstick for a 2013-2018 Altima, you would start with a dipstick measuring 23 1/8 inches from where the tool you use stops on the top of the cvt fill pipe tube in the engine bay. Then you measure up from the end of the dipstick and make 2 marks. One mark is at 23MM and the second is at 30mm. Between those two points is your โsafeโ range. That said, DO NOT overfill. This isnโt the 70โs anymore. CVTโs are different. โJust a little bit moreโ is a huge no-no with a CVT transmission. Do your research if you donโt believe me. I see people eyeballing what they take out and refilling to what they think is an equivalent amount. Donโt do that. There are many of these dipsticks being sold. All I can tell you is the one I happened to receive is spot on. But Iโd check them. I thought I misplaced a previous one I had (found it after I ordered this one) and the high and low marks were not correct on the older one. Ok, I adjusted after taking a precise measurement, but Iโll toss that old one and now use this one. Just donโt take it on faith, measure it up when you get it. Tape up a couple sheets of paper and measure 23 1/8, use your cheap caliper from harbor freight and make a mark on your paper 23 and 30mm up from the 23/18 mark then compare the dipstick you ordered to the marks you made on the paper. Again, itโs just a bit of time and your peace of mind is worth it. Ok, thatโs the simple part, but Iโll stress the most important part of this is taking the measurement when your cvt fluid temp is in the 170-180 degree F range. Again, if you donโt believe me, look up the technical service bulletin from Nissan on โcvt fluid levelโ . You canโt get much clearer than what they wrote. this is where most diyโers have an issue. They โguessโ at the temp and the reading will be wrong. These cvtโs are unforgiving. Fluid absolutely needs to be changed. But there is a process to it that MUST be followed. Itโs a super simple fluid change to do, just donโt spit-ball it. Yes, the tool needed to get the temp correct is a pain, but given the price of cars today, my suggestion is to make the investment. Call and find out what the dealer charges for this and you might be convinced. Sent from my iPad

Transmission dipstick
Helped me measure the transmission level in my 2018 Nissan rogue without having to go under and pull the check plug

Used this not as intended
Used this in my 2018 Sentra which it was not approved for. The end fits correctly but the length needs to be shortened to work appropriately. It just gives me a general idea that I have a proper fill after I changed transmission fluid and after I fixed a leak. Doesn't get used much now that it is repaired correctly.

Great product.
Great product. I hate it than Nissan stopped providing this device, claiming, I suppose, that that the fluid lasts forever or that only a dealer should change it. Here's what to do, check the level before draining it (motor hot, level surface, motor at idle speed). Drain old fluid and carefully measure exactly how much came out. Add exactly the quantity removed and then measure and add as necessary using this stick.

Worked great foy my 2015 Nissan Altima when changing CVT fluid.
I bought this product to use specifically when servicing the CVT transmission and checking fluid levels. It's very helpful for performing sanity checks and verifying before and after CVT fluid levels while performing drain and fill service. This dipstick is not intended to be left installed in the car and you still have to verify proper final fill level by removing the overflow bolt underneath the car, but again this dipstick provides a secondary sanity check so you won't accidentally mess up your CVT transmission by over filling or under filling which are both destructive conditions to a CVT.

Does not fit a 2019 Nissan Altima.
Bought because it said it would fit a 2019 Nissan Altima. Itโs the incorrect size and length. Does not allow for the top cap to sit correctly to lock in place. It is also not long enough to measure correct fluid levels. Checked fluid level after driving for 1 hour and nothing registered on the dipstick. Had the dealer verify my cvt to ensure proper fill and tried the dipstick and it still didnโt work

Does not do it for me
It didn't work for my 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport SV. Too short and never reads any fluid. Did a complete transmission clean & flush, measured the output liquid (~4 quarts), and filled with the same amount...no change. From what I've read, you don't want to fill it any more than that. Should get a reading (low, high, anything!), but it just doesn't. Big Fail

Perfect fit.
My 2017 Nissan Rogue didn't come with a dipstick. This one does the job perfectly. Was surprised to see that the the CVT oil was so clean after 92000 Kms. Now I know the level to top up to when I change the oil.
