I bought this to connect to my Sony PS5 to my Sony Dolby Pro Logic amp via its optical connection. Easy to install, it's literally connecting 3 cables (HDMI in to unit > HDMI out to tv > Optical out to amp) and it powers itself so you don't even need to connect it with the usb to your PS5.Once it was connected my PS5 instantly recognised that it could now output the sound to a 5.1 system, as do all the games recognise my home theatre system. I use the 'Dolby Digital' as the preferred output as it seems to give better sound than Linear PCM but that might just be my system.Highly recommend!

I have a Sonos playbase which only had an optical port for the sound input. For some reason my TV had a problem with its port and I did not want just give up my Sonos especially when it’s worth over £600 when I got it.Looked around and saw this on YouTube. I ordered and installed easily. I have had this months now and had no issues.Picture & sound are on point.

Does NOT support 4k on PS5 no matter what quality of cable you use

Bought this to use my Astro a40 tr with mixamp, if I use this the chat audio comes through my controller and not through the headset as I’d imagined it would… if you’re buying for the a40s this either doesn’t work wel with it or if it does I’m doing it wrong and would love some help 😂

Lo compre para poder ver peliculas de mi Nvidia Shield a traves de mi proyector y mi barra de sonido. Dado que el Nvidia solo cuenta con salida HDMI. Uso la salida de HDMI hacia la entrada del extractor, de alli se divide: una salida de HDMI hacia mi proyector y otra de cable optico hacia mi barra de sonido. El extractor cabe en la palma de mi mano. Incluye cable optico de buena calidad (pero pequeño), asi como un adaptador micro usb para alimentación y otro de salida de audio RCA. No incluye la clavija que conectas a la fuente de poder, pero esta la puedes tener con tu celular o cualquier aparato. Si sientes que el sonido es bajo, cambia de 5.1 a 2.0 en el switch.
