They’re really nice chunks of coal! I was expecting just some small shards but there’s a nice selection of sizes. Would be fun for the Christmas stockings gag. I was going to use them in an electric English fire stove but it didn't work out.

Good sample.. Bought for a friend that had never seen or touched real coal. Hw loves it.

I remember my grandmother's house, where there was a coal chute to deliver coal to the basement.My nephew, not so much. He thought getting coal in his stocking was a joke!So I purchased this, to turn the joke back on him.This particular item is a decent size - 3" - so it feels like a nugget.I looked at other items that were tiny, to fit in a little sample cup in a mineral collection.If that's what you want, buy that.For my purposes, the 3" nugget was perfect.How we forget - coal-fired stoves weren't all that long ago, were they?

Bought this as a humorous Christmas stocking stuffer for my kid, who loved it!

Was disappointed with size of the pieces. Not the 3” I anticipated for the price. However, they will serve the purpose intended. Shipping was fast and packaged well.

This was used in a science project at the Living Well Senior Citizens Center. I grew colorful moss on it.

I sent my brother this piece of coal for a Christmas gift. He called me laughing & he loves it. lolHe's on the naughty list. lol
