dose this work with the lenovo legion y530?

If the Lenovo accepts ddr4, then it should work. Make sure your not using ddr3 or earlier.

My computer shows that only 9.94gb out of 12gb total of ram are usable, it doesn't make any sense, what should i do?

Well, it could be that the computer is allocating the rest of the RAM to the onboard video controller... That would be my first guess. Go into the BIOS and see if the machine recognizes all of the RAM installed into the machine. While there, see how much memory is being used for the onboard video controller.
