The hammer is great the attachment device not so good.

Great tool to keep handy for travel emergencies.

Hopefully will never need this! I liked this one for the fact that it has a holder 4 it that simply tightens in place with a screw.i attached it to the map slot on my RAM 1500 drivers door. God forbid I need it for myself, it should still b within my reach. I have a Keychain 1 as well,but my new truck has push button start,so my keys probably won't b within reach after a collision. Every driver should have this kind of tool,it's a lifesaver!

This looks like it will be very useful if I am ever in a situation that I need to get out of my car. I thought it would be an actual hammer, but it's not - there are little ceramic prongs that come out forcefully when you push the top down. Unique! I am not using the mounting bracket, though, because my husband says it is too weak and the unit would probably break free if I was in a car accident, and might fly around the car. So I am simply keeping it in my center console (that latches shut) between the seats. Very glad I bought this - gives me peace of mind! I just need to remember to unhook my seatbelt or cut it off with this tool before I break the window - especially if I'm breaking the window because I'm in water!

I like the concept of the automatic escape and rescue hammer compared to the traditional hammers. Seems like it should do the trick in an emergency situation and the seatbelt cutter is a plus. I really like how you can mount it on your door for easy access and visibility. One minor issue is that it rattles while driving. I imagine many people probably wouldn't notice or even care. As for me I have a quiet ride in my vehicle so the rattling is noticeable, but there are ways to mitigate that. I would recommend this product.

Thankfully, I’ve never had to use this, but most of us have heard stories in the media (for me, it was the sister of someone I know) needing to escape from a motor vehicle accident, and having difficulty getting out of the car for various reasons. This is inexpensive enough that it seems like good tool to keep in the car. I’m hoping I never have to use it, but it seems solid and easy to use if necessary.

On Tuesday I was driving to work like I normally would. It was raining really bad and this chick in the right lane hydroplaned went across three lanes spinning rolled went into the trees and caught on fire. Their was a car in the center lane that almost hit her so she panicked locked her brakes up and hydroplaned and went into the tree as well. I got out and ended up having the smash the window and pull her out because the car was pinned and on fire. Thankfully I keep a life hammer mounted to my driver side door which helped break the glass quickly and easily. Highly recommend the product as everyone should have a window breaker in their car. I noticed two people gave this product one star but keep in mind a spring loaded glass breaker isn’t as simple as just hitting it against the glass. If you don’t know what you are doing or panic it will not work properly.
