Science Set of Experiments for Kids 20 Fun STEM Activities for Kids

We homeschool my son, so we are always looking for hands on science kits like this. Grabbed this one to give it a try after using up a different one from this brand that we had enjoyed in the past. I used this a full months worth of 'science class' for my son. With 20 experiments, there is plenty to plan a full month of hands on STEM learning for science. This kit contains everything you need to create some really fun volcano eruptions and other experiments.The instructions or very detailed, and even provide you with explanations of the experiments, an added bonus if you are using these kits as a homeschool Mom and you want to be sure you are teaching and explaining the reactions appropriately. There are a lot of reusable components to this kit, test tubes, measuring beaker, water dropper and more. I really appreciate the inclusion of the small resealable bags, this helps to store the opened powders (citric acid, baking soda etc..) without me trying to find something the correct size to store them in once we had opened them. My storage bags on hand would have been way too large for that purpose.So far, the glow in the dark volcano eruption was everyone's favorite. Really neat that there are so many different chemical reactions for just erupting the volcano in this one. I was able to not only use this as a science experiment but we also doubled it with a geography lesson and more about volcanoes too.Excellent value for the money, would be a great gift and a good instruction tool for homeschooling parents.

This is a decent little project for kids. Most of the experiments are exactly the same except you add one different ingredient (for example, Experiment 1: it's a volcano Experiment 2: now it's the same volcano but lets make the lava red Experiment 3: now its the same volcano but let's make the lava glow Experiment 4: now it's the same volcano, but let's make the lava a bit more bubbly, and so on) We did several projects but my daughter was easily bored with them. If you're only going to do one or two a day, it's not bad. I was just hoping for more variety. Also, read through the instructions before you tell your kids you're going to do them. Several of the projects take up to a week to prepare! So, if you set out to do something that day and haven't done the steps to get it set up days earlier, then it won't work. (For example, soaking an egg in glow in the dark solution and then refrigerating for three days). Anyway, all in all it was fun, but I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it.

My grandson loved getting this for Christmas. He loves experimenting and being adventurous. He loves the volcano eruption and does it over and over without any assistance. This gets everyone involved. A fun family activity.

Limited in types of experiments. This basically just has the volcano( baking soda and citric acid) experiment and Acid base indicator. Both can be done using home supplies.

I bought this for my 8 yr old granddaughter for Christmas & she loved it! She's only done 2 experiments so far but had fun doing it!
