Winsor & Newton, Cotman Watercolour Set, 20 x 5ml Tubes

(This is a unfinished painting by the way so he’s a bit blue, and I didn’t use water colour paper also is my first time working with watercolour paints ) but these paints are so good and affordable they are very high quality and would be really good for people looking for a gift idea or someone going into GCSEs or college and artists that like to paint whilst out and about since their portable! They work really well and has a good pigment and selection of colours and the consistency is really nice so it WOULD give a professional look to it if only i got more stuff for it lol

Excellent little set, just right for travelling around. Exactly what I was looking for as a gift. All the necessary colours included and room in the lid for mixing colours. Windsor and Newton and Cotman are established names I recognise from my student days so I was happy to purchase this set.

Approximately 6 x13cm this is indeed a pocket set. A sound range of colours in half-pans and the dips in the lid make for cleanable pallets. A great little set.

Summary: Good watercolour paints, especially for beginners but the colours advertised on Amazon are not what you will get. Do not get your heart set on certain colours. Make sure to check the colours you get so if you decide to add to your set you won't accidentally have duplicates. I want to add this is not an Amazon issue, this appears to be on Winsor & Newton website too. Colours in advert: Lemon Yellow Hue, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Red, Permanent Rose, Dioxazine Purple, Ultramarine, Cerulean Blue Hue, Viridian Hue, Sap Green, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Chinese White. Colours received: Lemon Yellow Hue, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine, Intense Blue, Viridian, Sap Green, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Chinese White. I've had this palette for a while now, I've finally got to using the colours and they're great. A wonderful selection of colours what will push you to be more colourful with your painting and not rely on blacks to darken the colours. I will add the colour palette I received is a little subdued and less vibrant than I'd have liked in an ideal world but it's a good start! I have since bought additional half pans to add to the collection. WN Cotman watercolours are excellent for beginners. I hadn't touched watercolours for about 13 years and got this small travel set to dip my toes into watercolour again. Lots of fun, compact little case with a tiny travel brush. These are half-pan watercolours so each colour is about 1.9x1.6x1.1 cm.

Lovely to use, gives a good quality finish and you can mix to get a wide range of glorious colours. You only need a small amount, so they are lasting really well and have given great value for money.

A nice selection of intense pigments that support many tones of transparent colour simply by varying the amount of water used. The colours blend to almost infinite hues and even as a beginner they don't look muddy when mixed unless I am incredibly inept or actually choose to mix a deliberately muddy shade. This set includes a decent quality fine brush, well suited to detail and line work, and can be used wet on dry for pinpoint accuracy or wet on wet for dreamy blooms, delicate wahes and artistic effects. This is the first time i've played with watercolours since i was a child, and is so much more fun than I remembered. It is surprising that such tiny pans yield so much colour and cover so much 300gsm paper - whilst barely denting their content! This tiny pallette is the perfect size to put in a pocket and sketch in the field.

Excellent range of colours and good quality paints.

Very easy to use, flip the lid remove the individually wrapped paints, spray with water, wait and use, the colours are good, and look good when dry, they cover the page well, depending on the thickness of the pigment used, the case is sturdy and durable. Good for travel or home use.

Este set de acuarelas **Winsor & Newton Cotman (12 tubos de 8 ml)** me ha sorprendido gratamente. Los pigmentos son intensos y transparentes, perfectos para mezclas suaves y efectos vibrantes. A pesar de ser gama estudiantil, su desempeño está muy cerca del nivel profesional. Es muy fácil de usar y un poco rinde muchísimo, por lo que es ideal para practicar, aprender o trabajar en tus piezas artísticas con fiabilidad. Con una valoración promedio de 4,7/5 en más de 1.800 reseñas, me parece una opción fiable y asequible. Muy recomendable para artistas que buscan buena calidad sin complicarse.

Paint is not to bad. Find I have to add layers over and over but as I do so the first layer wants to lift which I'm not use to . Colors are nice . Paint did gush out of tubes when opened to my hands were covered lol. But I think the more I use it the better. Also I was using a 140 lb block pad so maybe a higher quality paper will work better. Time will tell and perhaps as I play more with it I'll like it better . Been getting more comfy with paint andi love it. So glad I bought this paint.
