Bad clip design.
The overall quality of the torch is excellent but with one major flaw, the incredibly hard to use clip that holds the batteries in. The clip is so hard to close that it would be impossible to do it with the torch on a helmet, even off the helmet it is extremely hard to close the clip. The instructions suggest holding the clip against a heavy hard object to enable the clip to be closed, right there having to explain that the clip is troublesome should have been a warning sign to the designers.

Worth it
This light mounts very well to a helmet. It’s easy to adjust the angle and turn on and off with gloved hands. Batteries aren’t cheap but they last a while. The light is a bright, focused beam as well, which I prefer to ones that just spread out

Worth every penny!
Bought this for my son, who is a professional firefighter. He is amazed, and has had others buy it after seeing it. So much better than the awesome old streamlights and helmet mounted minimags we relied on 20 years ago when I used them. The taillight helps backup men know your exact location. Please buy the red because "From the Manufacturer: For every red Vantage sold, Streamlight will donate $3.00 to The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation". He said that the battery life is phenomenal, and CR123 batteries have incredible shelf life, so they don't self discharge like other batteries. If this helps my son see 1 hazard sooner, I got my money's worth. Smoke is hard to penetrate, creates a lot of glare, and a poorly engineered helmet light, no matter how bright, compromises the firefighter and the victim he may need to help. Dillon said this light is the brightest on every scene, and cuts smoke like a jet of fresh air.

Very bright and durable.
I replaced a previous model of Streamlight with this (4AA model). This is much smaller, much brighter and easier to use than what I had before. It does come with a pair of CR-123 lithium cells. It's a little tough to close the battery door, but you will get the hang of it. Note that the polarity for the batteries is not marked on the inside of the battery compartment. It is actually on the outside of the housing. I just replaced my first set of batteries, run time seems to be many many hours, so very pleased with this. Quality of this light is 100%!
