Mar 2025 - New home. New empty gas fireplace and Christmas was coming. Gotta do something, fast. Never tried lava rock before. In fact grew up with wood fireplaces, mostly. Ceramic logs way too phony. Lava rocks, medium sized, piled in the pan below the gas pipe worked great. Fooled around with placement and one can well imagine being on the slopes Mona Loa watching the flames crawl up through the cracks. A very satisfactory and kinda truthful, naturalistic effect. We like it a lot!

The quality the color, none broken, and it makes the flames higher in my fire pit then with the few pieces that they gave me with the fire pit. I've had a lot of compliments, and a gas fire pit is way easier than wood it's instant and these rocks help retain and throw more heat there's no doubt about it.

The color was nice blackish grey. Fit my small grill. Many of the pieces were small and several feel threw the grate . So it became a little sparse.

Advertisement said 3”-5” rocks, most of the rocks were about 2”. Could have bought the same thing at a local hardware store.

Used on my propane grill and so far so good
