I win….cat loses!!!!!
Omg I built a playroom for my grandchildren. My older cat got mad because she used to sleep in that room. So as an act of rebelliousness, she began to go to the bathroom in the middle of the room on the white fur shag rug. I tried EVERYTHING like sprays, gates, more litter boxes etc. the only thing that worked was this alarm!!! I put it right in the entrance to the playroom. The first time my cat tried to cross the threshold the alarm went off and she ran!!!!!! And…..she hasn’t gone back in the room. It’s been 4 months. This is the best invention of all time!!! (It also goes off if guests walk in the room but at least the rug is clean!!!!)

Effective at frightening all living creatures in house
Works great at scaring everyone living in my house. Very effective at 3 am when a kitty climbs to the rafters and we all need to wake up to deal with it. It works.

You better hope you don't get a "lemon"!
Here's my story with this product...Purchased the Scraminal in October 2019 for over $75. Worked fantastic....solved the problem of one of our cats urinating on one of our formal couches. However, it stopped functioning properly after approximately 8 months. It would go off sporadically and repeatedly without anything being around to trigger it. Eventually, the cats were unfazed by it. Being that so much time has passed since I purchased the item, the window to return or replace the item through Amazon is closed. The unit supposedly has a 1-year warranty on it. I emailed the manufacturer...and all I have received it a whole lotta headache. I first receive a response from the owner, Ted, who basically just passes me off and told me to call their tech support number. Their tech support (spoke with Arnel) is apparently completely ill-equipped to deal with any issue of this sort (not to mention has ZERO people skills)...just telling me to take the battery out, put it back in, turn it off, turn it on...yadda yadda. Then it's supposed to be miraculously fixed, right? Wrong.Five minutes after ending my call, the unit again begins to malfunction. I immediately email the owner again, and he tells me they will ship me a new unit....just provide my address. I did.I soon receive a call from their inept technician, Arnel, who leaves me a message asking me to call him so he can give me their address (why this information can't be left in his message, I don't know). I call Arnel, left on hold for another 5 minutes, then go on to have the following conversation with him:Arnel: Erin?Me: Yes?Arnel: You have our address?Me: NoArnel: (Proceeds to rattle off their address)Me: ....and why do I need this?Arnel: You're going to ship the defective unit back to us.Me: ....and who is going to pay for this?Arnel: You.Me: That's not happening.Arnel: No?Me: I have already gone back and forth with this too long....wasted too much time. Ted indicated you guys would be shipping me a new unit. I've already provided my address to you. That's it, and that's all.Arnel: OkI don't think I have ever dealt with worse customer service than this. I will update this review IF and WHEN I receive a new unit from this yahoos.

THIS PRODUCT GAVE ME BACK MY HOME!
I have one cat that is part Bengal -- he is very high energy; and is always opening doors and jumping up onto my counters and wall unit bookcases. I added to this situation by adopting a stray I found by a dumpster. The new cat is also very high energy and, even though he's been fixed, he started jumping on my kitchen counters and spraying on them. But worse than that, he was peeing in my sinks; and I learned he was also jumping up above my kitchen cabinets and peeing in one particular spot up there. I tried everything I could think of to get these cats under control (aluminum foil on counters, scat mats with electric currents and even squirt bottles). Nothing worked, and it had gotten to the point that I was actually contemplating getting rid of both of them. UNTIL I bought two of these alarms! I set them to the highest sound level and placed them on my counters. It took about three days of hearing the alarm go off at various times of the day and night, but it worked! Then, I placed them on the bookcases, and that solved the problem there, as well. I don't even have the alarms turned on most of the time these days but every once in a while, I'll set one off as a reminder for the cats. I almost didn't buy this alarm because of the price, but I'm so glad I did. I have my house back, and I don't have to get rid of my cats. THIS ALARM IS WORTH EVERY PENNY! I'M SO GLAD I PURCHASED IT!

Works a little too well - needs to be redesigned for indoor use so only the pet sets it off
This thing works really well, but the problem is that it also detects me when I walk near it and it scares the crap out of me and the cat. So basically I'm not really able to use it in the house. I might try setting it up outside to keep the ground hogs out from under my front porch. Suggestion for manufacturer: have this detect a chip implanted inside the pet so it only sounds the alarm when they get near it...this way the humans would not set it off.
