Good Value for Simple Tasks
Out of the box, this machine felt a little toy-like - lighter than I expected, plasticky, and somewhat fragile. When I tested it on scrap fabric, the motor locking lever got stuck. I managed to force it loose. I was discouraged and thought of returning the whole thing, but instead I persisted with a small project. It actually worked out surprisingly well. The two thread system is easy to understand if you are familiar with larger machines. The lower bobbin threaded automatically. The on-off switch was relatively easy to control in hand-held mode, but a little awkward to reach in desktop mode. Nevertheless, I preferred using it on my desktop because it felt more stable. It sews at only one speed and it's quite fast. You have to be on the ball. The finished stitching was tight and strong. For me, it's certainly suitable for simple repairs, taking in slacks, or making a pillow case, providing the material isn't supper heavy. I would find its ergonomics challenging for larger projects. Battery life is fairly good. However, it would be disruptive to have the batteries die half way through a long stitch. You can get an optional power adaptor, but it costs about half the price of the machine itself. Overall, this is handy product for the price if you can accept its limitations.

Waste of money
This does not sew. At all. I spent hours re-threading the WORST DESIGN EVER. Seriously, not even a channel to run the thread through, just a series of 6 holes. The longest I got was an inch and a half before the system jammed, and once I pulled the fabric out the entire threading fell off, held loosely in a single stitch hole that actually linked with the lower thread. Worst buy ever, this isn't worth the brand name that they put on it, let alone the plastic. This is worse than a child's toy sewing machine. Singer used to be top notch, such a shame to see this level of product from them. Edit: corrected spelling errors, added closing thought

Singer doesn't disappoint!
I've sewn on a few machines over my lifetime, including Singer, Sears, and Bernina, so I have a bit of experience, but I'm not a seamstress. Due to arthritic hands, I can no longer sew or lift the heavier machines but still needed something to do mending. I thought I'd give this handheld/desktop machine a try. I was thrilled. I watched the 4 videos online and they were sufficient to help me with the technical details. The straight stitch (all I ever need) was even and the tension perfect. The Stitch Quick is made with solid plastic and metal material and feels quite sturdy for such a compact machine. It certainly is portable (high on my list of why I chose it) and my leftover thread spools and bobbins (from my Bernina) are compatible with it as well. I'm very happy with this well-made product and highly recommend it for anyone, possibly a beginning sewer as well. Just watch the videos (I do much better with "show and tell" than reading), and I hope that you enjoy it as well.

Good for basics seeing job
I have a regular sewing machine but sometimes I am too lazy to set it all up, so I brought this to do quick projects. In a pinch it works but it is also a much more pain in the butt to use. The opening is maybe a quarter of an inch, so to slip something like a zipper through it is really challenging. And how the thread tension works, when you finish sewing and go to cut the thread, you have to pull it to the side cutter and because of the tension, you will either break the tread, or when you get it cut it will spring back and pop out of the eye hole. I’ve had to retread that thing a million times after each run. The only way to avoid it for me is to take the thread out of the spring thing, pull it up and leave 4 inches of thread and cut with scissors. And the reason you go through these extra steps is because the machine is so rigid and small, you need a threader thing to get the thread back in the eyehole. Because of the angles, it’s not like a regular sewing machine where I just use my eyes and fingers and run it back through, this thing is nearly impossible without a little threader device. It is handy for something like sewing a buckle strap back on a bbq pit cover by walking to the pit and sewing it on there on site vs removing the cover and taking it inside and setting up the big machine.

Read reviews then decided
I really am disappointed and disgusted with this product I read the reviews good and bad I took a chance and now I agree with the bad reviews I have put in 3 different brands of new batteries and nothing the on off doesn’t work in desktop or handheld position I also ordered a AC/DC adapter and where you are to plug it in shows polarity drawing my adapter that is suggested by singer to order plug doesn’t show anything so it is junk also

I’m honestly so impressed with this little sewing machine! It’s lightweight, super easy to use, and perfect for quick fixes or small projects. I love that it has both handheld and desktop options. For the price, it’s an amazing value, especially for beginners. Highly recommend for quick hems, repairs, or even small DIY projects!
