Daughter ADORES this book
My daughter ADORES this book-- it's so fun because you can either stick your fingers or their little fingers through the finger holes (she's still a young toddler, so it usually ends up being my fingers). Turning the pages and talking about the monster loving fingers for lunch is a hit-- she giggles throughout the story. It's also great because as the monster "eats" the fingers we also point out body parts-- the monster's eyes, mouth, tongue, etc. This gets read almost every other day. Highly recommend for little ones. I even chuckle every once in awhile.

Cute, different book
I wanted to write a review because I was hesitant to purchase because there were several reviews stating how this book had such gross vocabulary in it as he ate the fingers. The gross parts refer to ear wax and nose boogies and germs in fingernails and such. I'm pretty proper but think my 2 1/2 year old will like it as we all ewww our way through it happily! Cute book. You keep your fingers in the same spot through the whole book too and on each subsequent page there is just one less whole. Easy.

My Favorite Book!!
Received this in our Book Box and both my son and I adore it!!! A little gross (“goop under the nail”, nose picking etc), but my lil one finds it hilarious & loves interacting with my fingers throughout the book (almost ready to start putting his own fingers in it!). He can be easily distracted but this book always holds his attention. This made me so happy we signed up for the book box program!!

Just not for us, rather disgusting haha
I bought this as an Easter Basket gift for my 15 month old son after seeing it at Toys R Us. I loved the idea of counting the fingers and had looked at the first page and last page in person and decided to order it cheaper on Amazon. I didn't open it to read it until Easter Morning and upon page two my husband looked at me like "is that really what it says in that book or are you making it up?!" I included pictures of each page so you can read for yourself before you buy. I wasn't a fan of the "stinky pinkie" reference (not kidding! It's the second page!) and picking out the extra goop under the nail and spreading it like jelly. Maybe an older child would get a kick out of the disgusting things this monster likes to eat but we aren't really there yet.Pros: the monster and his friend are kinda cute.

A Delightful Interactive Book
My young granddaughter, who is a toddler, likes this book. She laughs as each finger disappears. When she gets older, I am sure she will giggle atthe “gross” storyline.

Good for some laughs
My daughter loves playing with the finger holes and laughs while I read and play with her. The overall words are a little disturbing if you really think about them, but it's a good book if you want to have some fun with your kids

We Need More Brandt Lewis Children's Books!
This book is absolutely adorable, could be a little "gross" for some I guess, but so much fun to read to your little one! I love the choice of words, some big, some small, some silly, and some icky. It's part of what made it a joy to read, not to mention the disappearing fingers! I hope Brandt Lewis writes more children's books, I would buy them all in a heart beat.

Storytime Fun for All: Mom & Baby Both Enjoyed
I subscribed to the Prime Library as a gift to my grandbabies and out of the three books I selected, this was the favorite. My grandson (2) loves the interaction of the fingers “poking through” the story. And mom loves the way he laughs.

Gross and strange story for children
How could this book have such high ratings? My 17 month old did enjoy seeing my fingers in the finger holes and grabbing them but other than all of the actual script in this book is disgusting and uncomfortable to read to a child or anyone for that matter. I do not recommend. I asked for a refund right away.
