Only just received this and was concerned that it couldn’t be installed or wouldn’t fit in my slimline NZ cistern, but it dors fit and so far works much better than I thought it would. Really easy to install and smells divine! Glad I ordered extra cartridges.

I've used many different toilet bowl cleaners in my day, all with very little success. Most might tint the water, keep it a bit more clean, and give it a scent. But this is the first one that actually did the job of regular manual bowl scrubbing. Our main problem is scum/mineral buildup around the water line in the bowl. I compared this directly with 3 different methods to see how well it worked, used in our main floor family toilet. 1) Drop-in blue toilet tank cleaner. This did very little to keep the buildup down. Within 2 weeks there was a noticeable line and it needed scrubbed. 2) Scrubbing bubbles automatic cleaner. This helped somewhat, but there was still slow buildup and certainly within a month it needed scrubbing. 3) Clorox toilet wand gel cleaner. This also did very little to keep the buildup down. Lasted less then two weeks. All of them did decently to keep the water looking clean and a "fresh" scent. However wasn't really what I was looking for. Now the results of this unit... In our heavily used family bathroom - this unit lasted an amazing 3-4 months before it ran out of the cartridge, and the results started to become evident. The whole time it not only kept the water/scent clean, it kept the buildup in the waterline completely gone! I did not have to scrub the toilet once or apply any additional cleaner to it at all. Gone are the days of weekly scrubbing the nasty toilet! This is truly a great product. I hooked this up in line, and in combination with High Efficiency Toilet Kit - One2Flush Conversion Kit Reduces Water Usage By 40% With Unique Dual Flush System , it connected easily, and it works great. I would definitely recommend the Dual Flush kit, it saves a lot of water. The bleach version of the cartridges work better then these blue ones I think. I also have a septic tank, its aerobic and my final stage treatment before discharge is also chlorine. Still it's best to minimize the amount of bleach put in for the main tank bacteria to survive. However, the very minimal amount this introduces is not a problem (especially when compared to bleach and cleaners from everything else), and its certainly not a problem to my ground at final discharge. Just stating on how I'm not buying into their "biobalance" refill too much. I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for the best possible toilet bowl cleaner out there. I can only hope the bleach refills go on sale and I can buy them in bulk, because they are a bit pricey when buying for 3 bathrooms every 4 months.

I have a Toto low-flush toilet, so the guts of it are unlike those pictured in the instructions or on the website. In particular, the "out" tube of the toilet stack is either not removable or so tight I was afraid it would break before I could remove it. So I cut up a ballpoint pen to make a connector between the out tube and the in tube of the Fluidmaster. The rest of it was pretty simple. I was able to remove the clip from the end of the Fluidmaster's out tube and push the tube onto the in port of the toilet flush system with no problem. Other than that it took a couple of flushes before the "blue" started showing up in the toilet bowl, but then it was good to go. I've had it about a week now, and it's working just fine, both with the low flush and the full flush. It took a while to get used to the way it flushes clear water, then dribbles the blue in at the very end but now I take it for granted. I got the "blue" version, rather than green or clear. The only thing I would be concerned about is with the clear one, how do you tell when it's time to replace the cartridge? With a coloured flush, it's easy: no blue, time for new. With the clear version, ?? Recommended.
