Good quality quilting pins at a good cost
If you've never worked with curved pins, getting the hang of handling them (especially one-handed) can be a trick. These Dritz pins are sturdy, well-made, sharp, and they open and close relatively easily. With the method I initially used for this, I rubbed a blister into one finger that first day (because I basted a crib-sized quilt at 3-inch intervals), but it quickly calloused and was no problem for continuing with the use of these pins. I will probably also get better at using them with time too...so I don't hold this against the pins. :) I think the value was good for what I got, and I'll be using these for many years. It's so nice not to use straight pins any more, as I lap quilt and would end up with a good number of jabs and lost pins before I got these. These curved pins made basting go about twice as fast, because I could essentially "scoop" the pin through the layers, and kept everything in place as I did my rough and fine hoop-based quilting.

As a quilter, giving high marks
This company knows how to make safety pins that don't snag and are sharp. I wasted my money on pins from another company and every one of them snagged. As an avid quilter, after spending hundreds of dollars on fabric, patterns and batting I am confident that all my work will be safe with the Dritz pins.

Excellent, save your nails
They are excellent! Use with the wood tool to save your nails (amazing!). I did have to throw away a handful that where broken or unusable so ranked it 4 out of 5 stars.

Sturdy and Reliable
I love these pins. I sell my kiddos clothes in a large pop up consignment sale where I have to hang/tag my clothing. These pins are sturdy and I don’t have to worry about them breaking or popping off. They are sharp and easy to apply. I like that they aren’t flimsy, but are thick and have a smooth bend. I will say, it takes a little effort to squeeze and open them so if you have to apply a ton of them, just be aware that these are heavy duty.

Read dimensions carefully
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with these, but I did not read the item description carefully. I wanted much longer pins and these are not long at all. And the box holds a bunch. They still work fine and I’m using them anyway.

These are really good quality - really sharp and heads close easily. They go through the fabric easily and every one I’ve used had a really shaped point. I like the size too, not to small which can be fiddle and not too big to be bulky and damage the fabric. I mention these things as I bought another brand on amazon and half the box I had to throw away as they were blunt and the heads were tight so difficult to close. Not with these though they are excellent quality and well worth the money.

Good quality pins, however I think this size is a bit too small for quilting projects.

I was looking for regular sized safety pins that were well made as sold 30 years ago. I couldn't find any. These are even better! I like the curve in them and they are great for basting. I use them to pin sweater pieces together so I can check for sleeve length, etc. Well worth the price.
