This stuff works wonders!! And the smell isnt as bad as some of the rec
I never knew about lanolin until I started searching for products to help soften my feet and my boyfriend's lips. I have used so many things and some worked a little bit but I have never been completely satisfied with the results. Well I decided to try this pure lanolin because I love other products this brand sells and I couldn't be happier with the results! 1st of all the price is great!! You don't need a lot so it will last awhile. The 1st time I tried it I put some regular lotion and some body oil on my feet and after that soaked in I put a a little on the bottom of my feet and then put cotton soak on then went to bed. When I got up my feet felt so soft! Im on my feet all day at work so my feet will never feel super soft but they def feel a lot softer. I can't wait to see how soft my feet get after using it for a long time. And as for my boyfriends lips...omg!!! They did a complete 180!! His lips always looked so dry and gross...... So I told him to bush his lips when he brushed his teeth before bed and I put a very small amount on his lips and the skin around. After 1 night his lips looked and felt so much softer. Now we both do that every night and our lips have never been softer. And there's no more cracking on our lips. I don't use it anywhere else on my body but I'm sure wherever you need extreme moisture (like your knees elbows, hands, etc....) this is def the product you need to get . Oh... Yes it kinda of has a smell to it but I noticed I don't really smell it when you use a small amount on my lips and I never noticed my feet smelling like it once it's soaks in. So don't listen to the reviews of people saying it smells so bad they can't use it..... It's definitely not that bad.

Helps keep moisture in
The texture is rich and thick, which is exactly what I was looking for to treat very dry areas like my hands, elbows, heels, and cuticles. A small amount goes a long way, so even though the jar contains 7 ounces, it lasts much longer than I expected. What I like most is how well it locks in moisture. I usually apply a thin layer before bed, and by the next morning, the dry, rough patches feel noticeably softer and smoother. It creates a protective barrier without feeling overly greasy once it has a chance to absorb. It's especially helpful during colder months when my skin tends to become much drier than usual. The quality of the lanolin is excellent. It doesn't have an overpowering scent, and the formula feels pure without unnecessary additives. I've also used it on dry cuticles and other rough spots, and it has consistently helped restore moisture. The wide-mouth jar makes it easy to scoop out just the amount I need. The only minor downside is that, because it's a pure lanolin product, it has a naturally thick consistency.

Total petroleum jelly replacement, and more!
My household is literally never, ever, without a tub or bottle of this lanolin. This brand, specifically. I've tried others, including lansinoh, and this remains my favourite. The price is unbeatable, it's pure, it works. We use it for lanolising wool cloth nappy covers and wool nappy pants. It's amazing for dry skin. I have had an annoying flaky dry skin patch in-between my eyebrows for months now. I tried everything to clear it up, fancy creams and washes, as well as homemade remedies. Literally nothing worked. I finally tried the lanolin on it, it is now significantly better. It is also magic as nappy rash cream. My baby has super sensitive skin that gets dried out very easily, this keeps her skin from getting too dry and rashy. It's also helped with her cradle cap, keeps her head moisturised to where it doesn't come back as much after I manage to get it cleared up. It's also a perfect salve for cuts and scrapes and minor burns. And good for cheeks and lips as a barrier outside in frigid temperatures. I put it around my six year olds nose when he's had a cold and rubbed his skin raw from blowing and wiping too hard. It does smell a bit sheep-y, but I happen to love the smell. I grew up on a farm, so it makes me happy tbh. Once it's applied the smell fades anyways. It's thick, and sticky, but spreads well once warmed. And deeply nourishes the skin. I use it on my face and lips at bedtime. After reading other reviews, I'm planning to add it to my next batch of whipped body butter, too!

Use this for diaper rash as a barrier.
My daughter was having an extremely bad diaper rash due to a sensitivity in my diet from breastfeeding as we were resolving that we had to wait for the acidity in her poop to go down and something that would allow her bottom to heal from blistering. We needed a good barrier that was natural and healing. This worked better than desitin and Vaseline. We got desitin because we were desperate for something that would help her bottom heel however after reading the ingredients knowing it would be bad ..We were rather mortified that we were putting petroleum products and talc on our baby and they have added fragrance. But we needed a barrier and something that had zinc in it. Zinc is great for healing and there are other products that we can use that have the zinc in it but for barrier that was natural we chose this.. We would use something was thinking it and alternate it with this if needed. And I did not want to use petroleum, or talk or fragrance or some other added ingredients. So we needed something that acted just like Vaseline without being a petroleum byproduct. I was using my nipple cream for a barrier But even that wasn't thick enough for my liking the purple tube is mixed with something so that it is much more appliable to store nipples but is not super thick for diaper cream. This tub was very thick and worked great I used it after we would dry her off with every diaper change until her diaper rash cleared up. It does not have a strong lanilon smell although I love the smell of lanolin. So long story short this product is great It is thick a little bit goes a long way it'll stay on her bottom until it has wiped off between diaper changes. Helps her a lot at night If we're not catching her diaper change right away. This creates a great barrier creates great moisture is lasting for longer than any other product that I've gotten for diaper rash on the shelf. We use this at night with a disposable diaper now for routine care for her bottom. Just remember that this is not cloth diaper safe this will waterproof any cloth that it is applied to. So it is great as a diaper cream and great if you're using it with a disposable diaper but this is not something that you use for cloth diapering mamas unless you are trying to waterproof something it will ruin the absorbency. This also works as a nipple cream You just need to allow it to get warm between your fingers before applying It is safe for ingestion for infants. It's also great as a lip balm and other chapped areas..

Cost effective and extremely hydrating
Yes you can buy lanolin that is purified of all color and scent. It is much more expensive and if the scent bothers you I recommend buying the more expensive kind which is about 4 to 5 times this price per ounce. Itโs lanolinโฆ.so itโs going to smell a bit like lanolin. The smell doesnโt bother me enough that Iโd pay the ridiculous prices of purified lanolin. Iโm usually only using a pea sized amount and the smell doesnโt linger so I feel itโs a waste of money to buy the scent-less kind. The bottle shows the color of the product (so nobody should expect purified lanolin which is white) and at this price point I donโt understand why people would expect it to smell like anything other than what it isโฆlanolin smells a bit like sheep. If you donโt like the smellโฆfork over the extra cash and stop complaining. I live in the Midwest. It gets cold. I mean REALLY cold. We are all walking around with dry skin everywhere because the cold rips the moisture out of the air for about 6 months out of the year. I have to use incredibly heavy moisturizing ingredients. Even thenโฆ.its still hard to keep skin moisturized. I use this in cold weather. I do my skincare routine and get as much moisture into my skin as possible prior to applying this. I mix this with zinc oxide ointment and apply it to my face/hands and anywhere else that needs protecting. This helps lock in moisture and form a barrier that prevents water loss (TEWL) trans epidermal water loss. Lanolin and zinc oxide are some of the heaviest moisture trapping ingredients available that donโt clog pores. This also works amazing as a lip balm BUT you want to put moisture in your skin prior to application. Donโt just rub this on dry skin and expect it to moisturize. This forms a barrier that prevents water loss. It doesnโt add moisture to the skin underneath (although it does trap any moisture that was already there). I recommend wetting the skin, using something moisturizing that absorbs into the skin and then applying this on top. One note of caution: when the temperature gets real (and I mean REAL like subzero temps) lanolin gets hard, like wax. Trying to use it as a lip balm in subzero temps it will feel like youโve spread melted beeswax all over your lips and allowed it to harden. This is why I mix it with zinc oxide or another barrier forming substance. It helps get a thinner layer that doesnโt get hard in extreme weather. The amount of lanolin you get here is enough to last for about 2 years of daily usage on face and hands (during cold seasons). You can also use this to lanolize wool clothing. If youโre doing that I recommend a 1% concentration. Anything more will simply make your garment oily and gross feeling. This is an extremely versatile product that can be used on anything from rashes to chapped lips and itโs an essential item in my home. I used it a lot while raising my daughter. It was the ONLY thing that would immediately help with extreme diaper rashes. I mean within minutes you go from screaming baby with fire engine bottom to happy baby who allows you to change their diaper and doesnโt fuss because theyโre in so much discomfort. It can be safely used on any part of the body. Its chemical composition is similar to concentrated human sebum (the natural oil on human skin). Itโs a miracle in a bottle. I use a q tip to dig into the container despite its antimicrobial properties. This is a large container. It lasts forever and it doesnโt feel hygienic to dip my fingers in something thatโs going to last for 2 years. Highly recommend this product. If you are squeamish about scents then youโll need to buy the purified kind. I find it feels a bit different than this โless purifiedโ kind. Itโs thicker but still works. If youโre looking for a cheaper alternative to purified lanolin this brand is great.

GREAT moisturizer with sheep smell
I was raised in a sheep + goats + .... farm , and this Lanolin really smell like sheep, and its disgusting -for me at least- either because it bring memories or because something else .. ..., I don't know. Some people find the smell pleasant, good for them. I wish I have such feeling, but I cannot. It does not smell a mile away, but rather when you stick your nose on where you applied it, therefore when I apply it on my hands, I keep them away from my nose (in gloves) for a while until they dry out. Some people compare the smell to chemical or oil product or whatever, and that's because -I guess- they never experienced life with sheep. Other Lotions: I work outside in a ~40 - 50 degree environment. My hands used to be like a cracked concrete block with a senseless thick layer. I was using Aveeno, Cetaphill, Vasyline and whatever might help. Cetaphill was probably the best, but I noticed that when I apply it(not only Cetaphill but all the mentioned) they create a temporary smooth feeling that disappear with the first wash, or when my hand are again in contact with the cold weather, and then I have to keep re-applying again and again many times during the day for a mediocre result (beside the chemical involved) Lanolin: I apply it once at night. And since the smell bother me, I wear some cheap cotton gloves, take them off in the morning and do my usual work. Its effect is like magic. Regardless of what I do and what the temperature is, my hands stay smooth with no such senseless thick layer anymore. I feel bad for peoples who are still trying other chemical lotion, because they did not get to know yet this magic Lanolin. I know I hate the smell, BUT, I will always use it for its healing power, which has no match "based on my experience", and that's why I gave it 5 stars ( I would give it 100 if I can). AND It's lanolin, a sheep's product, so it smells sheep. If the smell is unbearable to me, I would go with a chemical products that God knows what can do to my health. It's a trade off .... ... ..

Great for homemade lip balm
I bought this lanolin to use in my homemade lip balm, and Iโve been very happy with it\. It has a smooth texture and blends nicely into my lip balm recipe without leaving it feeling overly greasy or heavy\. It was also the best value I found when comparing similar products\. A great option for anyone who makes their own lip care products\.

Barnyard Magic
The stuff is impressive. It literally works overnight to heal my severely dry and hurting skin. HOWEVER, the smell is SO horrid that it literally takes my breath away and makes me gag as Iโm using it. Itโs *almost* unusable because of this. Itโs extremely tacky/sticky and really takes a hard rubbing to get it to mix into your skin. Unfortunately, my kids wonโt use it because the smell is so off-putting and I could never wear it out of the house since Iโd prefer not to smell like a barnyard, hence the 3 stars. If you donโt mind any of that, then this stuff is a game-changer. Personally, it wonโt be a long-term solution for my familyโs dry skin probs.
