I recommend this. I use it to check the temperature of my bearded dragon's vivarium and her bath water. It works fine.

Study well made handheld thermometer. Getting use to using on outdoor griddle. Sometimes reading is the same when checking different areas of griddle that are on different heat settings. Overall good idea of temperature on cooking surface.

This thing just works as advertised and is very well built. The manual did say to flip a switch under the batter cover to go from C to F but I had no such switch. A quick google search showed that you simply press the red button on the back to toggle from C to F when the display is on but the trigger is not pulled. I would certainly buy again. I am using to detect the output of my air-conditioned and it works every time.
