Great Product - Hobbyist & Professionals
Cons: - Battery: must remove screws to change batteries. Not big deal, but this would be a "nice to have" feature. - Beep: unit continuously beeps when measuring near zero ohms. Perhaps can be disable but haven't discovered how yet. Again not a big deal. Pros: - Purchased during Amazon Prime deal (July 8 - 11) and got fantastic price break - Overall solid and strong construction (possibly could easily withstand 3 feet drop) - Good display: easy to read in normal household ligting; and option turn on back light (illuminate) - Easily detect AC voltage near houshold sockets or behind walls - Easily measure AC and DC current (amps) using clamp (which easily opens, right amount of torque) - Provides option to automatically or manually perform measurements - Solid and durable case for unit, temperature sensor and measurement cables - Great for hobbies, or professional electrician or electronics work - Pleased with product, and would recommend or purchase again

HT208F has LCD screen visible in bright sunlight
I own both the HT208D and the HT208F. Both are a great value with a great many useful functions. I originally bought the D model because I wanted to measure the peak inrush current on our RV AC when I was debugging what turned out to be an on board generator problem. Even though I have a lot of good meters at home, none had inrush capability. The D performed very admirably, but as mentioned by many others, the display can be difficult to see in bright sunlight. Still, I liked the meter so much that I wanted a second one. That's where the F model (HT208F) comes in: It's not immediately apparent, but the F is identical to the D except that it has a standard (backlit) LCD display that is visible in bright sunlight. So if this is a concern for you, get the F model. It's a quality meter with features for most everyone.

Good, but unreadable at some angles...
The display has a very wide view angle up, down, and left. To the right it fades out from about 20deg off axis to 45deg, then becomes clear again. Very strange, and a big problem if I set the meter to my left (so that I am to the right of the meter, in the dead zone for the display). If I keep it straight in front of me, or to my right, it is quite nice. I like the extra display of meter temp that is always visible above the main display when the meter is on. Unfortunately that feature only reads in deg C, and I haven't found any way to change it. The DC clamp amperage seems pretty accurate, as long as it is carefully zeroed. This meter is useful and versatile enough that it bacame my main road kit meter in my truck. Very handy. I have a wish list for an improved version. I would love to see volts and amps at the same time. Even better would be volts, amps, and watts at the same time! If it had that, my Flir meter would probably never come out of the drawer.

Good quality clamp meter for AC work
Very good quality and value for the money. I bought this meter for some AC work after buying a Kaiweets multi meter. I was very impressed with the build quality of both meters

Works for automotive draw test
Great for automotive use! Reads down to 10miliamps, and its within about 10ma of my Snap On DVOM. Definitely accurate enough for draw tests on DC.

Incredible Clamp Meter
In my business before I retired, my default electrical test equipment was always Fluke. Not just because it's some of the best available, but because I could write it off as an expense. I'm retired now so cost IS an issue, so when I needed to replace my defunct Fluke clamp meter, I bought the HT208F because of all of it's quite advanced features for the price. The $10 extra to get the "F" display over the "D" display is well worth it because the F version is so much easier to read in sunlight with the backlight available for low light areas. I'll finish up to say that that I am VERY impressed with this meter. It's 1/5 of the cost of a Fluke that has similar options and it's seems to be quite accurate compared to other Fluke meters I still have (including my 117). I now use this clamp meter as often or more than I use my Fluke 117 because of the easier way to measure amps (and Inrush current). I often use the HT208F with the Triplett ET200 AC Line Splitter and GFCI Outlet/Receptacle Tester which makes measuring current even easier.

Reliable and precise meter so far
The accuracy is spot on with my fluke meters as far is voltage measurement and amperage reading. It does use a bidirectional clamp so you can tell amperage going in or out. the included t probe is not bad it gets the job done but we will see how long it lasts. the screen is easy to read and is nice and bright in dark places. The NC voltage sensing is a bit over sensitive for my taste but that's not the primary use for this and the flash light has come in handy. Overall they hit a home run on this meter both in functionality and price if your just going to carry one meter I'd suggest this one. The included probes are good but I would pick up a lead kit as it makes life easier haveing clamps and other ends

Failed with limited use, can't see in daylight.
Bought this a few years ago, maybe used it 10 times, it is very hard to read the screen in any kind of light, using outdoors is out of the question, and now the digits jump all over the place and are 1/2 missing so you cant even use it any more, I thought with the good reviews it might be decent, but as always its junk.

I was looking for a honest and reliable clamp meter. After watching many detailed reviews I have decided to buy this one. Very good quality, measurements are within spec range, not exactly a fan of AAA batteries but they seem to last a while. Screen looks very nice, unfortunately can be hard to read outdoors in sunny conditions. I'm very satisfied with my new toy 🙂

This Kaiweets HT208D clamp meter is extremely SOLID. And extremely good value. The dial works well. The display is fantastic. The meter has very good features for AC and DC and it wasn't too bad to learn how to use it for a non-electrician. While the In Rush function is supposed to be for AC current only, I've seen YouTube reviewers say it also works for DC current, though this is not in the user manual. A Tip: To best use the InRush function, also buy an AC Line Splitter to use for measuring appliance/motor InRush current, as otherwise, you would need to split the cable to be measured, as the clamp is supposed to ONLY go around 1 wire, the hot wire and not 2 or 3 wires as in Hot, Neutral and Ground together. Kaiweets does not seem to sell an AC line splitter, which IMO they should. Klein has a nice small one but it has no price on the Amazon.ca site. The dual position line splitters can be unwieldy to use in some outlets, as it falls out due to being long and then having the appliance plugged in to the far end, while the Klein line splitter is smaller, grounded and is less prone to fall out of the outlet. Using a line splitter means you still only measure the hot wire and so you do not have to cut into and damage your cable to get at the single hot line/wire. Measuring AC and DC current with the clamp is a breeze and voltages with the beefy but soft and pliable and very good silicone wire and probes makes it a great multi use meter and especially so for solar and off grid use. The clamp easily fits around 4/0 cable and accurately measured DC Current, as well as AC Current. Measuring appliance or motor AC InRush is a HUGE help as not all off grid inverters, especially low cost High Frequency inverters that don't use big heavy transformers, can handle high inrush currents and the inverter sellers and some manufacturers don't tell you this and over hype their inferior products. This meter will tell you what the appliance / motor inrush current is so you can ask the inverter manufacturer if the info is not in the specs. The 2 cons for some may be that the display is apparently difficult to read in bright light outdoors and the flashlight is blocked by the clamps so isn't all that useful. Oh and it has a useful NCV function via the clamp sensor that works well though and reports on the display, by sound and by a Red or Green LED. As well, there are 2 pots inside that can be used to calibrate voltage readings to fine to meter. It also displays an ambient temperature reading in the display in some modes, as well as coming with 2 temperature probes. As well, it has a very good warranty. While I had a decent Klein multimeter already, I waited a long time for this Kaiweets to go on a the best sale price I'd seen and then decided to get it for the AC InRush function and the DC Clamp function for my off grid solar needs. Not sure how much I'll use the Klein now, although Klein I have, is not a clamp meter and has fewer functions but is much smaller than the Kaiweets HT208D. The Kaiweet HT208D goes on sale occasionally and when it does, don't sit on the fence, as that makes it an even better value. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Ka he estado usando para mí trabajo y sinceramente tanto la resistencia, presicion y funciones que tiene la pinza es bastante sobresaliente por el precio sin mencionar su capacidad de medir hasta 1000A de CA y CC
