A pretentious, uppity, hoity-toity spoon and I love it.
It’s a pretentious spoon. It’s a spoon that screams unnecessary and ‘I want to look middle class’ and I still love it!It’s a nifty design, it fits into jars perfectly and scoops out Olives, cherries etc. And the trusty fork is perfect for pickles and artichokes.I’m a frequent buyer and moaner of Joseph Joseph and I often grumble that things are well intentioned, but they’re either done cheaply or poorly made. This is a solid if not unnecessary spoon, but is just simply delightful to have. It’s a decent thickness of plastic and easy to clean and the fork mechanism fits in perfectly.I hate using table spoons to fish out olives and cocktail cherries, and eating individual pickles is also a pain with a large fork, now the issue is solved. As I said, it’s a pretentious spoon. But it has a decent purpose. My final thoughts?I’d you’re a frequent user of pickles and jarred goods like oneself, then it’s well worth the money.I’d avoid if you’re already cluttered with spoons or you have something better to spend your money on.I can’t hide how unnecessary this spoon is, but it’s a small taste of heaven.

Olive spoon (with a hidden extra)
Nice piece of functional design, the handle is long enough to get olives from the biggest of jars, the head of the spoon is big enough to cope with some pretty huge olives. The little added extra is the 2 prong pickle fork that hides in the back of the handle of the spoon, the prongs have a couple of small bumps on to stop pickles diving back in to the jar. My 4 year old loves using this as she has recently discovered a love of cocktail gherkins and cornichons.5 stars would definitely recommend to anyone in need of either an olive spoon or a pickle fork, or both.

Game changer
No longer do you need to chase a pickle (be it an onion or a gherkin) round the jar. The spoon is very useful for getting pickled onions out easily and suitably drained so you don't get vinegar all over your plate, but then you notice the in-built pickle fork and you feel like you could winkle anything out of anywhere. Extremely empowering.

Not cheap, but very good quality
We get through jars of olives and always end up chasing the last few around the bottom of the jar. The scoop feels really well made and will last a long time. Scoop "head" is a little large for getting the first few olives out of the smaller sized jars, but the included pickle fork works perfectly for those and then you can get the scoop in for the rest. Very happy and will be getting a couple more for family and friends.

A useful addition to my kitchen.
The spoon works well at getting pickles out of jars without too much liquid. The fork, which is stored in the handle, is also useful. I'm not usually a fan of the Joseph Joseph range as style usually takes priority over how well the tool actually performs in real cooking. This is an exception, though still overpriced.
