This product does not work; I can’t connect it to the system or the app. I’ve called customer service, and they were unable to help me. Frustrated, I decided to check the online forums for any potential solutions. Many users reported similar issues, suggesting that a software update might be necessary. I followed their advice and attempted the update, but it still failed to function properly. Now, I'm left wondering if I should return the product or continue troubleshooting on my own.

Not intuitive & app. Is horrible.
Installed the 3 piece Hunter system, timer, Rain Sensor, antenna sensor. Took me a good hour. System is not intuitive at all. Couldn’t even find my Network. I had to manually enter it. Make sure you take picture of serial number on chip for setup & rebate. Everything worked great when I installed 3 days ago. Then my internet went down for 30 minutes & it did not connect back to router 10 feet away. You would think it would be smart enough to get me back to running but nope. After trying to set up all over again several times & it still would not work. I finally deleted the app. & reinstalled it, took me through the entire set up process all over again. It finally worked but could not remember basic items like password & internet name. This took me about 3 hours of trouble shooting & it ends up being the app? What a disappointment. Then the rain sensor disabled the watering program & app. does not tell me why. Should say rain or forecast or some identifier. So I had to trouble shoot that to insure it was still paired & connected to controller found out it was forecast. No customer service phone number available for problems. I had to email & they said they would respond in 24 hours. Very disappointed, what a joke. Absolutely no customer service in a timely matter.

Great product
absolutely love the wifi-enabled irrigation module/app. connected, installed, tested & works wonderfully well. even has home weather sync so system knows when to water more or less dependent on sunny/rainy days. can activate within a touch of button on the app & so much more. install was a breeze & connected to home wifi instantly--and no monthly subscription required.

2.4G network only
As advertised and quick. One note that is in the fine print is that it only works on a 2.4G network and will not work on a 5G network so plan ahead.

A pretty tough time with set up, but once done it's been working perfectly
I installed 2 of these for 2 identical Hunter timers on both sides of our house. The first installed, synched and set up fairly easily. It took several tries to get it connected to my wifi but after 3 tries, it finally connected and set up with the Hydrawyse app was easy. The app isn't the most intuitive, but once you understand the terminology (zones vs programs vs schedules), it's very helpful. I love being able to add photos to each zone, as descriptions are sometimes hard to come up with. We don't have rain sensors, but I have it set to monitor and adjust based on local weather forecast. So far, it's been very accurate and has skipped scheduled cycles when it's either rained heavily the day before, is raining now, or is forecast to rain that day. We had very light rain early one morning, and the system still kicked in at 7am b/c no more rain was forecast for the rest of the day. I recently planted some new plants in one of the zones and have been manually starting that zone for extra waterings on top of the scheduled ones. Doing so is so easy using the app. The second module that I attempted to install was a whole different story. It refused to be recognized at all. After spending over an hour trying, I stopped to analyze why this one wasn't working. Looking at both modules, serial number sticker on the first one was on the back of the module and it was printed in dark, crisp, clear lettering. The second module had the serial number printed on a faded sticker that was stuck (but partially lifting at the edges) onto the front of the module. The writing was so faded that it was a bit difficult to read the numbers. Thinking maybe a 1 might be a I or a 6 could be a faded 8, I tried all the different combinations. Still no luck. I finally ended up asking Amazon for an exchange, as I wondered if this had been a return/defective item that I received. That must have been the issue, because when the replacement arrived the sticker was clean and the print was dark and clear. I was able to install/sync it with just 4 connection tries as I did with the first one and it too, has been going strong for over a year now without any issues at all This has been super helpful for us as we travel a lot. We have great neighbors who would stop by to turn off our sprinklers during a rainy week, then turn them on again when the storm system had passed. No need to ask them to do that anymore. Summary: - it takes several attempts to sync/connect it to wifi, but once connected, it works great and has not dropped connection in over a year now - we've had several power outages since installation, and when power is restored, the system restores itself without issue - adjusting, editing or manually starting/stopping operation is simple

Pure Garbage, Stay Away from Hunter
Stay away from Hunter. I am getting rid of my Hunter X2 controller because this is just pure trash. I have had this system for 3 very long years. It has been nothing but a headache. It never stays connected, the zones rarely activate when started remotely. I uploaded a video showing "Off Line", which is the state it is in 90% of the time, no matter what you do. My guess is they took somehow who is really good at sprinklers and told them they needed to develop an app and hardware. He probably took night classes to learn to code, and it resulted in this abomination. Not his fault, obviously incompetent leadership at Hunter. I'm hoping to find something higher quality than this "Great Values" product. I hate this product. I hate this company. I will never give them another penny after wasting my money on this system and fighting it for three long years.

Very convenient.
Meshes great with my Hunter control box. No longer have to use the confusing controls and timer in the box manually. The Hydrawise app does it all.

Stable After Initial Connectivity Issues – Settings Adjustment Required
I didn’t have any issues connecting the wand to Wi-Fi initially using the SAP method, but during the first 12 hours, it would disconnect every 1.5 to 2 hours. To get it back online, I had to unplug and reinstall the wand—defeating the purpose of remote access through the app. The Wi-Fi signal in my garage measured -43 dBm, so signal strength didn’t seem to be the problem. The next day, I accessed my AT&T router’s admin settings and made the following changes based on recommendations from Hunter’s website: Changed the 2.4 GHz band mode from B/G to B/G/N Set the 2.4 GHz channel from Auto to Channel 6 Assigned the wand a fixed IP address (not sure this helped, but I did it anyway) Both my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands use the same SSID, and I did not rename the 2.4 GHz band. The wand correctly connected to the 2.4 GHz band, and it appears band steering worked properly. Since making those changes, the wand has stayed connected without any drops, and the Hydrawise app has worked as expected. It’s user-friendly for setting up programs, manual watering, and adjusting settings quickly. I haven’t yet tested the smart features like weather integration. It’s only been a week, but so far so good after changes. I’ll update this review if anything changes.
