Live off grid in a hostile environment. I live off grid in Alaska bush.. my water source is from a spring fed creek Water is clear and cold.. However much of Alaska water contains arsenic and carbon removes it. This product also removes other products from water that are harmful. I built a carbon filter out of 4 inch diameter ABS 48 inches long with a small drain hole in bottom. It contains and slows water flow long enough to eliminate elements i do not need or want. Unfortunately the size of the carbon was too small for what I required. I needed it for an air purifying unit. I gave the media to a friend to planting purposes. If there is a larger sized media I would buy it.
