Foammaker High Density EVA Non-Slip Marine Teak Decking Sheet, DIY Flooring for Boat, Yacht

Installed on my boat; looks great. Adhesive properties are not great, but I found an application of contact cement to0 the base surface works well.

My wife and I had those old snap-in carpets inside our boat and they were starting to look pretty rough. We wanted to replace those with something that would be less of a hassle. There were several videos online with pretty good instructions on how to install EVA flooring on YouTube and we figured that we'd give it a try. This EVA was pretty easy to work with and the color of all 3 rolls matched perfectly. Neither one of us had any experience doing this before, but it turned out pretty good. We just scrubbed the boat clean, used some acetone to clean up any residue, and sprayed down some 3M Hi-Strength Adhesive 90 to assist the adhesive backing of the EVA. I really think the 3M spray makes a big difference. The adhesive on the back of the flooring is decent, but the 3M spray is seriously strong. It did take us a pretty long time, about 14 hours to finish. It was worth it though and we are happy with the results.

I was a bit weary at first BUT this product works great. Looks great as well. Lots of positive comments from people who came on the boat. Feels great on feet (a bit hot in the sun) no slipping and water runs off fairly quick. I did add contact cement to help with the adhesive along the edges foe added adhesiveness. The 3m adhesive is very sticky so you may not want to do it. Have been out on the boat several times with lots of people and it seems to be holding up great. Lets see how it handles the whole summer season.

I was a little hesitant on purchasing this item considering that I did not know how it was going to look actually installed. However, I am more than satisfied. It was sort of easy to install. Lay it out cut and then glue it on. However, we did place it incorrectly at the beginning and it was tough to remove it. I wouldn’t necessarily say thats a bad thing since I do prefer it not to move. However, I would say you need to be sure that you place it in correctly the first time. Very little room for mistakes. One last thing would be after a few times in the water. We were starting to get prints and dirt on it, but it did clean out easily with a pressure washer. It didn’t wash out completely, but still looked very good.
