Excellent. YOU MUST MEASURE YOUR CAT TO GET CORRECT SIZE!
You MUST measure your pet before buying products of this type. Spare yourself some aggravation and get yourself a small, cheap tape measure. My cat obsessively over-grooms and her back is covered with scabs. I measured her twice and heeded the advice of another reviewer who said the neck measurement was crucial. I got her a medium despite her being a rather small cat. I got it over her head and front legs easily. The Velcro strap was a little confusing at first but once you pull it through the slot it suddenly will make sense. This thing is nearly perfect. It covers nearly her whole back and she can't get at areas she been obsessively grooming. She decided to start grooming her legs instead so i had to put a puff collar back on her anyway but at least now her back is protected and can heal. I highly recommend this product.I almost never leave 5 star reviews. I am very happy with this purchase.MEASURE YOUR PET BEFORE ORDERING!

too small for my cat
I bought the size large for my 12 pound cat and it was too small. I wish there was a larger size! It seemed like a quality item and I think would've worked nicely as a cone alternative.

not the best
i got this for my cat to help with anxiety, but ti didn't fit her right, the proportions are all wrong, and it is really hard to get it on. The fabric is soft, but that's all it's got going for it.

Small neck
Our cat is used to wearing a dog sweater, and as another reviewer commented, dressing the cat is directly related to her legs becoming nonfunctional. She CAN move and does get used to moving around. I ordered the medium, and the back length is a bit long for her. I feel like it restricts the use of her back legs. The neck is rather small. That is my biggest complaint about this product. Otherwise, once it is on she does purr and seems to be comforted. I don't leave it on her unattended because of how it hits her back legs. She does wear her dog sweater unattended because it does not restrict her movement at all. The Velcro is very strong, and I can see the ripping noise bothering some cats. It does not bother our cat.

Unbelievably calming
About two months ago our seven pounds of sass ‘Sasha’ started meowing incessantly. Maybe she could hear mice scampering under the house? Or too many moths to chase through the house?Thinking it might be anxiety and having heard of the thunder shirts, we bought this thunder coat. This thunder coat arrived when we were at work and my mother-in-law figured out how to put it on our little cat. And then Sasha fell over on her side. My MIL thought she might have died. Turns out Sasha flops onto her side to invite belly rubs. She told us how to do it, and I managed to put it on our kitty the next morning. It wasn’t easy. Not something I want to do before I’ve had my morning coffee. Then one evening when it was time to tuck the cats in (they spend the night in the laundry room so as not to wake us with their night time antics), Sasha brings us her thunder coat, in her teeth. If that’s not the puurrrfect endorsement, I don’t know what is.These days, it’s not a big deal to put her thunder coat on her. I kneel on the carpet and set her between my knees with her head facing out, put her head thru the big hole and then each leg, Velcro up the back and then she relaxes and waits for me to wrap the belly. Then she lays down in my lap and purrs. She never used to be a lap cat….

Our girl loves her vest!
Our kitten is 4 months old and 4 pounds. We originally bought the medium based on the size chart. We quickly realized it was huge, but it did the job. As we got closer to her spay, we figured we should get the size small too. The small fits perfect and should until she's 5-6 pounds, we estimate. We put it on her at night, otherwise she's so calm in it that she sleeps all day and all night. When it's close to bedtime and we haven't put it on yet, she carries it to us to put on her. What started out as dressing her up quickly made us see she's so much calmer and more happy wearing clothes. Her vet said that some cats just like the compression and it won't hurt her. He said it's like swaddling a baby. She's happy, so we are happy!

Didn't work as well as I'd hoped
Traveled with my girl from Korea and she was not happy. Sedatives didn't work, calming jacket didn't work she yowled all the way to Seattle

Calms the kitty
We have a crazy nutso cat that will mess with everything and will not calm down. Put the vest on and it's like we gave him a tranquilizer. Works every time.

It fits small
My bengal is a runt so she'd very tiny, so I knew the small would be fine for my forever kitten. I got it to stop her from beating up the new kitty and so far so good!!

Large is medium, medium is small, small is a half dead cat
I don’t know where or how they get there sizes but they are all over the place and did not fit.2 mid sized cats couldn’t even fit the large size available.
