Sand filter perfect
The sand filter is the perfect size for my hot tub if it's perfectly in a small space. It is built of good quality and the price was very reasonable. It functions good and is set up easily.

Better than cartridge filters for pools up to 16 x 32
I have installed dozens of sand filters in my career, usually replacing cartridge and DE filters.I have always used Pacfab or Triton, but those are pretty pricey. This one is affordable and great for smaller pools and keeps the water clearer than the cartridge filter did. It's a LOT LESS WORK to backwash this filter than it is to remove and hose off a cartridge filter.I can only guess why cartridge filters are so popular in pool stores... sand filter last for many years, no filters to buy and backwash in TWO MINUTES!!!

Works great!
Purchased 8/2021 and has worked great. If I could find the o ring/gasket replacement I wouldn’t need to buy another one in 2025. Can’t complain it’s been a great filter for the $!

Bad product and terrible support
This company does not support their products. I ordered this filter alone with their 2HP variable speed pump. Since day one I not had a clean pool bottom. I am an experienced pool owner and decided to replace my 20 year old equipment.I should also note that the documentation is lacking and there is no explination for the relief line that floats above the sand and allows for unfiltered water to get back into the pool. I have since blocked that off at the top.Their support offered little to no help and has told me that since I have had it for more than 30-days it is out of warranty and gave me parts page. The pastics do not appear to be durable. I do not see the filter head holding up long term but it can be replaced assuming the manufacturer is good about keeping parts available. The spider gasket in the filter head is not replacable, requiring you to replace the squash plate. Compared to Hayward and my old Sta-Rite the gasket is narrow and hard leading me to think this is part of my problem. It may also be that the spring in the squash plate, that is welded on, is not strong enough with the motor is runing at 2500-3000 RPM during the factory set run program.I have done what I should have and ordered a Hayward filter from Lesley's.

Don't try to use the supplied pressure gauge with the filter! They DO NOT MATCH.
Don't try to use the supplied pressure gauge with the filter! They DO NOT MATCH.Generally it's a simple and working product. I would recommend it. Some say that a 'sand filter' doesn't work effectively but I beg to differ (and that's a different topic). It filtered my 36" in-ground kidney shaped pool with a 1 hp pump in 24 hours. I used 6 bags of sand from the local pool supply (300 lbs). It had been weeks since the old filter cracked open along the bottom and utterly failed so the pool was filthy.I haven't needed to backwash it yet (since the initial flush to clean the new sand). The pressure loss through the filter is only 4 psi and the throughput is much much larger than what was happening with my old cartridge filter. In my adventures I have seen the inside of the valve and it's simple and ingenious and should last for years and years. However, it came with a pressure gauge which seems to be meant to screw into the back of the housing where the air release valve lives (on the left of the bottom picture). Even though the size and the threads match, the ABS plastic housing is NOT threaded to the NPT standard like the pressure gauge is (all the gauges are NPT like that). NPT threads are tapered and the female end, on the housing is NOT. So, it leaks. And leaks. I started with sealant and then moved to teflon tape. Leaks. I was living with that while deciding what to do. There is a clear warning label right there that, in plain English, warns against over-tightening and they really mean it because what happened next is that the pool guy came and used a tool to tighten it and cracked the housing. Duh.So, I have learned a lot about "ABS plastic welding" and you, dear reader, can know to NOT try to use that supplied pressure gauge, or any gauge, with the filter. One must mount a gauge on the inlet pipe instead.

Superior to an element style filter. 6 stars!
I used this sand filter to replace a larger element style filter. This thing is superior to the element filter in every way. Turn the handle to flush debris instead of disassembling my old filter housing and washing the filter. I’ll take turning a handle every time. Easy to maintain, no leaks and cleaned my pool up quickly. I’ll never go back to an element filter. If I had the option to give this 6 stars, I would. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Good filter
Arrived quickly and was easy to install. It's much smaller than the one I replaced, but they say it's the right size for my pool. Time will tell, but so far it's working just fine.
