ERA Mechanical Digital Door Lock with Holdback - Satin

I’m a carpenter , trust me these things are a nightmare to install. You’ve got to be absolutely millimetre accurate with both your marking out and drilling(NOTE:the front and back holes are offset differently. Use the template!). The gap between the door and frame is critical as is the positioning of the striker plate. Also crucially it isn’t very secure as it could be opened from the inside, the combination can be easily guessed and insurance companies will laugh at it!Ok if you don’t really need to lock anything and you’ve got all day to fit it! Bought as a replacement for "another manufacturers" digital lock {ERA} which was many years old. This one was perfect, arrived very quickly, well packaged with extremely clear instructions/templates which the average layman should be able to follow without any difficulty. I was able to just switch the lock and the internal snib over without changing or altering anything else and it appears to be a well made product; so if it lasts as long in constant use as the last one then, brilliant.However, I am somewhat mystified as I ordered an ERA lock as shown in the photo but received an Arrone hence the inverted commas around'another manufacturers' above. Also the knob on the keypad face is round indented and not oval as shown which I thought might prove a problem for my wife with arthritic hands. It was only fitted one day ago so time will tell!

Instead of constantly replacing rusty padlocks we now have an easy to use outside access way to our garden which, right now, is very useful.

Really like this as I didn't want a key for the back gate so the family can come and go without hassle. Fitting was relatively straightforward. Just move the template 3-4mm closer to the edge of your door to account for the plate.This makes alignment much easier.Great product

Had this fitted and used for a week and then noticed it doesn't actually lock. there was nothing stopping the latch going in. No need to turn the handle
