DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR YOUR DOG - My dog chewed into this only a bit, but ended up throwing up foam for hours. Turns out there are toxic chemicals in this toy. I am going to try and get it delisted. DO NOT BUY!!

We have a 9-month-old Boston Terrier, who is 16lbs and an aggressive chewer. We initially bought her the “Petstages Ruffwood Wooden Dog Chew Toy” in the Original Flavor, which she absolutely loves, and after several months of chewing, the bone is still completely in tact.Naturally, when we saw this ”Petstages Dogwood Durable Real Wood Dog Chew Toy” in the Mesquite Flavor, we thought it’d be a homerun, especially with the exciting new flavor. It smelled like actual mesquite and our dog absolutely LOVED it (almost to the point of neglecting her original flavored ruffwood bone). BUT, after one week of chewing this bone and it being more than halfway chewed down in that small time frame, we had to take this away from her and throw it in the garbage. Not only was the bone shredding into small pieces that could then be seen in her feces, it was also breaking off into large chunks that we would have to scoop out of her mouth before swallowing. If she wasn’t supervised when chewing this bone, then who knows what swallowing those large chunks could have done to her! We also were NOT thrilled to see her feces COVERED in pieces of this bone.We highly discourage anyone from buying this bone. Instead, opt for the “Petstages Ruffwood Wooden Dog Chew Toy”. My dog almost died due to this!! My dog had to have surgery to remove chucks that got stuck in her stomach and intestines! I gave this to her and she loved it. Chewed on it for hours didn’t worry about it she normally just leaves bits for me to pick up. The next day she started vomiting, two days later she was in surgery that could of caused her to die from an obstruction. $3500 later she is ok but poor thing went throug a lot. I bought them over other products thinking it was safer and if she did swallow anything it would just pass. I also didn’t want her to break any teeth so I thought this was a good product. I would NOT recommend anyone give this out!! Please bewear my dog almost died. I added pics of the pieces they had to remove so people can see how dangerous it is!

My bulldog loves these wooden chew toys. A few months ago she started acting up and eating the wood siding shingles off the house and part of our jacuzzi deck. We would fix it and it would happen again. She had a lot of toys so we knew she was not just bored. I asked our dog trainer what to do and he suggested we give her sticks as toys since she seems to like chewing wood. We tried that, but the sticks would get broken or thrown away by the gardeners. So, when I came upon this real wood toy I had to try it. It is amazing! She loves it and she has not chewed any wood off the house since we got the first one about a month ago. My dog loves to eat stick, which has caused us a couple of emergencies with them getting stuck in his mouth. Couldn't break that habit until we got these. They do end up like tiny pieces of rice which I have to sweep up, but he easily digest them. He has a sensitive stomach and is on special food for that and these don't bother him at all. He goes through the large after about 5 days of constant chewing. He is a 70 pound lab.
