Craftsman 3/8" Drive 4 Piece Spark Plug Socket Set, 9-34504

super disappointed and wish i looked closer at other reviews ... it's been years since I needed a tool i dont already have. this time it was an 18mm spark plug socket. I grabbed this Craftsman set thinking it was priced right and always good to have extras in the other size. shame on me ... the price reflects lousy finish quality...i should have purchased an 18mm Motion Prop - Pro Plug socket or a MAC plug socket. I tried to forget about my indiscretion but I can't sleep, and I'm trying to eat my shame away ... 15lbs fatter and no sleep in 2 days and I've decided I just cant have this junk polluting my otherwise quality tool chest...they are headed into the scrap pile post haste!

It’s the new craftsman. Meaning no longer made in the USA. Interesting no where on the actual socket does it say China but on the package itself it stated made in China. However, they still stand up and function with repeated use. These are a set of spark plug sockets with the rubber geometric inside. By the third plug rubber geometry came off trying to install new plug. No big deal except I didn’t notice until I got to next cylinder and couldn’t extract. I put some sealer around and reinstalled geometric now seems to work fine.

The sockets shown in the listing have bright shiny visible etching of the sizes. This is why I bough t them. I wanted the quick and clear indication of size. WHAT I GOT was 4 sockets, mounted on the card in the wrong order - of which 2 had faint etching of the numbers, one was barely visible and one, the 3/4 inch, had absolutely no marking at all except a very small stamped 3/4 inch up in the label. THESE ARE CLEARLY SECONDS. This is a very misleading listing and I think it was done with the knowledge of the state of the sockets. These sockets have been off and back on a card. SECONDS _ BEWARE.

Do not be misled by the pictures shown. This is NOT made in the United States. That being said it’s still not a bad value for what you’re getting.

These are awesome spark plug sockets, high quality from Craftsman as usual. They shipped packaged well and secure. Rubber inserts hold spark plugs well. I took off one star because the ones I received are not USA made and do not have the size marked on them like what is shown in the pictures. I also wish they included a 14mm like most sets do. I will have to purchase this separate. But they are nice quality, Craftsman brand, and work well.

Made in China but have not had any issies with the rubber boot coming out of the socket when installing plugs. Also my local Ace Hardware did not carry the made in USA version so I'm glad I didn't waste the extra money buying them there.

Probably will not hold up if heavily used. Certainly not the same qualityof American made Craftsman tools.This is no slam against the seller, justSears!

I found the finish and markings to be quite good. The only problem was with the plastic inserts. I'm used to foam that grips the insulator, but these have a medium-hard plastic that grips the terminal. There's still ribbed plastic around the insulator for cushioning, but if you're on-center it doesn't actually touch. The problem was that three of the sockets had holes that were much too small for the terminal. I enlarged them with a 7/32" drill bit, and now they click onto the terminal just fine.
