Magic Tricks Pen - The Original Pen Thru Bill Trick

This pen looks to be a variant of the one I used in the past. Previously you'd get a gimmicked pen, and a normal inspectable pen. I actually like how they designed this one. The cap goes over the real pen end that does the writing, and you keep the gimmick in your pocket. You can have them write their initials on a bill, then take the bill and pen from them, then perform the trick. Once complete pull off the cap while keeping the end obscured and replace over the tip, pocket the gimmick, and the pen can be inspected. This trick was one that I sold that took minimal practice. 10 minutes in front of a mirror to get dialed on bringing the gimmick out, get the stabbing of the bill down, as well as the removal of the gimmick. The quality of the pen itself is average, but considering the price I think it's well worth it. This was a very popular trick and really blows people away. Remember though, there is a magnet so don't put it in the same pocket as your cell phone, or get near any types of computer memory... Performance tip: Give the pen to an accomplice, then when you ask for a pen and bill they produce the pen and you can get the bill from someone else. This REALLY freaks people out since it can't be gimmicked if it was from the audience. Another option is to place the pen on a table say near a magazine where it's kind of hard to see, then start looking around and "notice" the pen. Ask someone to grab it for you then ask for a bill. This also works well with playing cards... have them sign it, rip the pen through the card, then reproduce the signed card. I then let them keep the card as a memento. Also, anytime you have an inspectable item like this is, remember it is always better to set it down vs. offering it up to be inspected. 99% of the time they will just snatch it up before you can stop them, and in doing so it makes them think they chose to inspect it vs. you telling them to... just adds to the mystique... Lastly, for you single people out there... instead of asking them to sign the card or bill, ask them to write their name and cell number on it ;) (even better if you get the bartender to hand you the pen...now that's an icebreaker) In summary, good quality for the price for a beginner skill level trick with a strong visual effect.

Fun and easy to use! The strength of the magnet assures for straight alignment of pen each time regardless the condition of the bill, but using a crisp $20 or higher is a real teaser!

Great for starters

Got it for my son and he loves it. It's a very strong magnet so it can 'go through' puzzle pieces and other objects besides money. It is a usable pen too!

I bought this for a 13 year old who is totally into magic. It is a very neat trick, we, yes he and I , could not figure out the total instructions. I video on utube would be very helpful. The pen is very realistic, and you can remove it quickly. the probelem was exactly how to hold your fingers to get it in the right place at the right time.

This is a great gimmick to fool your friends. very easy to perform and with just the right "distraction" you can make everyone believe that the pen is magically going through a dollar bill and the leaves no puncture hole afterwards. Totally worth the investment.

I recently purchased a Pen Thru Dollar Magic Trick to replace this one that I had lost. It was okay, but not as good as this one. There are many versions of this gadget but they are not all created equal. This trick has a stronger magnet, a longer front separating section which adds to the illusion, and it comes with instructions. I decided to re-purchase this version since it works better and gives a cleaner presentation. A magician is more than his apparatus but for the few extra dollars I would go with this one.
