just open the ring and remove, add bead and replace ring. Pretty simple. You may need a bead reamer or buy beads with larger hole.

I purchased 2 sets and now they are turning dull and black in spots?

It's cause they are 925 silver "plated". I personally think it's bull crap that they are allowed to put 925 on these. Complete rip off.
