Does this connect direct to ipad?

It connects to my internet which I dont have on my iPad and then it connects to the square stand so when you make a transaction through the square stand it operates, dont think it would function without the square stand.

Does this drawer operate with an Apple computer and if so, how do you set it up?

The drawer integrates with your receipt printer, not directly with any type of computer. If your receipt printer works with Apple, this drawer will work with that receipt printer, as long as the receipt printer has the port that connects to this drawer (looks like a telephone cable port). I can confirm the Star Micronics TSP100 line of receipt printers work perfectly with this drawer.
