Review: Very tasty if one follows one's recipe. - Very tasty mushy peas. I presoaked with hot water and some baking soda. Rince the next day and boil. My recipe called for the baking soda and that may be key in softening them. Review: Wonderful! - I soak overnight in plain water then cook in slow cooker Love them!

Excellent quality, nearly 100% germination
Two days in and I would say that the picture speaks for itself. The roots are on the way to the bottom for my planted pea shoots and I should see a sprouts soon. Youโve got yourself a repeat customer.

Good for soups
I use them for making tasty soup with added ham, vegetables and spices. The peas require soaking in water overnight before cooking, but thatโs no trouble.

Not Edible
These peas are dry and did not plump up after three days of soaking. I made a second attempt and soaked some in water for two days and then microwaved them in a big bowl of water for 40 minutes and they still didnโt soften up enough to be edible. On the third attempt, I soaked them and boiled them for hours and they were still hard and not edible. I definitely would not buy again. I wasted many hours of my time for nothing.

Inaccurate Description--Still a Decent Product
One of the words used to describe this product is inaccurate. As of late November 2022, and earlier, at the time of my purchase, these peas are noted as "Marrowfat" The term Marrowfat typically refers to a varietal of pea mostly limited to the UK. Marrowfats are a field pea, allowed to grow to maturity and dried on the vine before harvest. They are noteworthy for their size and starchy composition and are favored for use in mushy peas--a dish culturally significant in the UK. Having had my fair share of Marrowfat Peas as well as normal "garden" peas, I can say that these peas are not Marrowfats. They are a fine product, it is true, and have many uses as many reviewers have noted. But if one is seeking "authentic" mushy peas, these peas are not Marrowfats. That being said, I will reiterate that these dried green peas are a fine product and are delicious in such dishes as chicken pot pie, or even by themselves (after a suitable soak, of course) And admittedly, a dish resembling mushy peas could be made with them. But the point I am making is that these peas are not, in fact, Marrowfats. I suggest that the word be stricken from the description.

Good
Nice, plump and tasty. Nothing beats good old Mother Nature for a perfectly natural produc of the Earth with zero human involvement except to knock the mature fruits off the tree. This product has a beautiful flavour.

Bad batch - didn't soften
It seems there is a problem with this batch we recently purchased (2X). We have purchased this product quite a few times in the past, and a recent bag didn't soften (even overnight). So we figured we had a bag with a problem and purchased a second one. Same problem. Two bags in a row straight into the garbage. Now technically ... these aren't actually marrowfat peas - these green peas are similar but smaller than marrowfat.

different packaging
I thought these are Marrowfat Peas but when I got the order, the packaging is different and does not mention Marrowfat Peas. It tastes good however.
