People complained about the pictures but they are not small. What do you expect from a book. The pictures are so good. That I started a street fight club and started kicking ass and gave myself the nickname Dragon Foot. Not only am I faster but I have karate feet now. I have to buy foot cream because dem dings are tinky.

good book but would have been better if the pics were a little bigger

After reading Kancho Joko Niomiya’s book My Journey in Karate, I was interested in finding out more about his actual style of karate so opted for his instructional book. This is quite the instructional book. It is comprehensive and covers all the main basic principles of the style plus includes combinations, tactics and plenty of information. Although I don’t practice this particular style (Enshin), nor do I do full contact karate like Ashihara, Seido or Kyokushin, as a karate-ka I have found it an interesting and useful read, with many points easily transferable between styles. The pictures are good and very clear, and the instructions are although presenting difficult concepts at times, are simple and easy to follow and understand. If you are interested in this particular style/any full contact karate, or just have an interest in karate in general this is a welcome addition to any martial arts enthusiasts book shelf.
