Leviton 2-Pole 3-Wire Grounding Cord Outlet, 3W102-E, Black

After my extension cord lost a fight with my hedge trimmer, this saved the day! I just have a custom 48' cord on what used to be 50'. Good price point and works well. It is a little bit of a struggle to get the wires packed in there, but it is worth it for a more compact plug that looks similar to the original plug on the cord. I don't like those big, bulky, round ones. They are easier to put together, but only because they are huge by comparison. This is still a little bulkier than the cord's original plug, but fortunately the plastic guard plug on my hedge trimmer can be bent enough that this still fits. It also fits in my WORKX edger (which I also highly recommend.)

changing the end out on a chord is easy and when 100’ chords can cost over $200 you have to do something to make them last. Moreover, I have discovered that when your vacuum breaks, cut the chord and save it for christmas lights. i had a lasso fan forever that had a 12 gauge, 15 foot chord. when the fan finally quit working after more than a decade, i cut the chord and now have a great shop chord. I have been amazed at all the “free” chords I have been able to make because I had these chord ends. Live in an older home without copious quantities of plugs, cut a chord down to exactly what you need, put the female end on side and the male on the other and one chard has become two. These ends are truly one way I feel like I save money. They are well built and easy to use, too. A phillips head screw driver, wire cutters, sometimes strippers, and a couple of minutes…you are good to go.

Good solution to a severed cord. Simple. Strip back, use screwdriver to open the hinged part, strip back cord, screw attach the three lines, fit the cord (a tight fit), close hinge, screw tight, wrap a bit of good electric tape. Total about ten minutes. Works!

Love it, trust it and will recommend it to anyone as its a known high quality part. My hedge trimmer managed to cut 25 feet off my 100 foot extension cord (it happens!) and a quick and simple fix was to just used this end and its "mate" to quickly and easily make a 75 foot and 25 foot cord out of the pieces. Actually its more useful now so it was a win-win. Love it!

Easy install

Good for occasional use once you get used to fitting the wires; however it does not stand up to daily use under moderate load. The flat terminals are one sided which means it won't grip plug well enough to keep a good connection. Then it slowly melts. I've gone through 3 in 2 years for my water distiller (~800W), which I use outside in good weather. I've since gone to a 2 outlet box setup or a heavy round outlet. The mating plug seems okay.

Works great, easily adaptable and installation

Good. Been in service a few years in an outdoor environment with no problems.
