Most helpful book I used
I used a lot of the books on the market and this one was my favorite. The rationals are long and detailed (usually about two pages). I felt they also matched well with my actual LMSW test. I also like the LCSW edition of this book. I passed my test by 30 points, using the Apgar book, this book and watching pam turner videos on youtube as my main ways to study.

Must have!!
This is a must have for studying. This is the closest study tool to the actual exam and how the questions are asked.

Sort of helpful but not a aligned with the 2023 exam
I took a prep class and used this book's online practice questions to prepare for the test. I felt pretty good about how I'd do. But...I don't know if these questions are outdated, but the actual exam questions were vastly different in structure and content. You're better off preparing by taking the ASWB's practice test.

Can access the web site with a used code. Not happy about this.

Not recommend this book
Do not buy this book. It is useless and off the track of the real test. Do not waste time on this book. You can find a much better test book than this one.

Better than the ASWB practice exam!
I passed my TX LMSW exam with 116 points and only 98 required, and I attribute most of it to this book. I am in all the FB study groups and decided to take advice and buy this book. It was the only study tool I purchased aside from the ASWB practice exam online (also helpful, but slightly less). No need to buy expensive programs, you can do this! I have to say this book helped me tremendously because the detailed explanations about the answers (and even the incorrect answers) were way more detailed than the online ASWB explanations. And one NEEDS DETAIL because this exam is almost entirely reasoning-based, so you have to have a STRONG understanding of the whys and the why nots - the first, best, better, next answers. Best money I spent was this book. I never used the online version of it (but there is a hard-card inside this book that gives you online access codes if you prefer that instead of a tangible book). I highly recommend! Apgar is apparently the OG of this field and she's still got it - this book was top notch for Oct 2022 exam taken.
