I want to have cold tap water with no clorene taste and filter out any other contaminants from the municipal water supply. Previously I used a different style filter where the filter sits in a screw on external housing. I got tired of fighting to unscrew that housing which seemed to get a little harder every time. This new style is more expensive to replace but far easier, just shut off the water supply to the filter, turn the housing and it releases. Put the new one in, turn until it snaps into place, turn the water back on and run for 5 minutes. That's it. It's good for 6 months. Highly recommend as an easy to use alternative.

Slim enough to not get in the way under the sink.We have salt system softener.I asked my water pro what filter is needed to remove the chlorine on the cold water line (mainly for my indoor plants) and washing food items.This is what was installed.

I agree that the filters don't last 6 months. I replace them every 4 to 5 months. They keep raising the price of this product and availability is occasionally annoying, particularly as a subscription item. I recommend going for a more client-friendly company and product that this one.

I live in NYC in a relatively new building (built in the 90s), so our water is generally pretty good already. However, these filters only last about 3 months for us before the flow on the cold water is too low. Since the cold water volume is so minimal, the hot water ends up being scorching hot. There's only two of us in the apartment, so I was expecting this to last closer to the 6 months it is advertised for.I'm probably going to change the sink setup so the filter goes to a separate beverage faucet. If I had to do this again I'd probably get a different system.
