A great size, very cushiony, and versatile
I bought this mat to use in my beginning yoga class. As soon as my boyfriend saw it and felt how plush it was, he said "That would be great to use as a pad under a sleeping bag when I go camping at the lake". I reminded him he would need to get one of his own because this is for yoga class. (It's also too hot to go camping right now.) He was right about the padding being a good thickness to cradle you and I appreciate this during savasana and when doing seated poses without a bolster. It's long enough to stretch out on, wide enough to feel comfortable when moving from a front-facing pose to a side-facing pose but you can roll it up, put the Velcro straps on it and put it in a closet or under the bed to get it out of the way and it doesn't take up too much room. The strap between the Velcro ones gives you something to hang onto to carry your mat but you might want something more colorful like a bag to put it in and that gives you someplace to put your socks as well. The surfaces have an anti-slip coating and this is helpful when starting out as a yogini in a sweat-inducing climate like this one. At this point, the stickiness takes some getting used to but, if that's the case for you too, you can always wear yoga socks. There are lots of cute one out there and you won't lose any of your stability. I can't speak to the durability yet because I just started using it but the edges look well made and I don't see any gaps so I don't think they will separate. I plan to keep it out of the sun and heat so there shouldn't be any problem with the material cracking. I got the grey one because Amazon had it in stock, it was going to ship the earliest, and I wouldn't have to worry about dirt. Then I bought one black block and one fuchsia block and my yoga strap is two tones of Army green so now I'm wondering if I would have preferred a pink or purple mat instead. Or even a black one. Amazon has a good return policy on these and I have until July 4th to change my mind and the mat does come in all those colors. In any case, my indecision over my choice of colors in no way detracts from my opinion of this mat which so far I highly recommend.

Good Thick Yoga Mat
I purchased this specifically for the thickness and it is a quality product. Good stability and traction, perfect for ab exercises. As a yoga mat, you may prefer a traditional thinner option but I feel this is still adequate for most people. Color is good, simple to clean. It will leave marks easily however. Good mat, durable, easy to transport or store

From a Non-Yoga enthusiast
The first time I bought a Yoga mat, I plucked it out of the bin from either Ross or TJ Maxx. Then, I decided it wasn't for me and I sold the mat. So, I wouldn't know how to pick a good mat if I fell over it. I came here and purchased this one from the reviews. Again, I'm not a die-hard Yoga-er? Yogi? So I'm probably not giving it the "workout" it needs, but here's a few things I noticed. When I unrolled it, it was nice and tight from it's position. I had to lay it out, then lay on it to get it flat and ready to use. My dog was amused by this, but I'm not sure it counts as a position. It does dent. I've seen where others tear, but so far, mine hasn't yet. But dents? Yes. I can see this as more of a "when" rather than "if." The foam is soft-- it's bound to happen at some point. No noise noted. No squeaking or shifting, or "fart" noises. You can go about your routine in peace. I did notice a smell on my hands after. At first, I wasn't sure what it was, but it was latex-esque or plastic like. I didn't notice this during, but I did smell it after. To me, it's squishy and comfortable. Like I said , I briefly used it as a make-shift cot prior to it's official use, and I thought it was fine. Didn't move, and for what it is, I thought it was pretty thick. I Love the strap, I love the color, it'll do for now. Until it falls apart, I'm happy with it.

Not a cheap material
Great Matt is thick so that is what I was looking for and I love it. It does come with a handle so you can fold them up and it wonโt just be all over the place but overall great purchase to get.!

Thick & sturdy.
Great mat! Nice thick, sturdy foam! -- Im using it along my raised garden beds so I can crawl across the area that's covered w wood chips to work. I cover up lumber edges w old staples with one edge too, and can push myself up & slide it along beneath me. Great on my knees and elbows. Eliminates the need to constantly get up & down. Nice thick, sturdy foam! Gets slippery fast if I hit it w the hose!

Comfortable but unstable (and stinky)
I'm a complete novice and have used this mat almost daily for over two months. It provides a very comfortable space to practice on my hardwood floors, even if I'd prefer a slightly wider/longer mat. I mainly practice in the evening before bed, so the majority of the work I do is on the floor. When I've branched out to daytime practices, I have considerable difficulty if I attempt a pose that requires balance (on one leg/knee or with legs spread wide). During those poses, I can step off the mat with much more success. I've also experienced slippage. It's not a grip issue, it's that the mat itself stretches out thinner when pressure is applied in a certain way. Lack of stability seems to be a trade-off for the cushion/comfort. The mat also has an odor that has persisted throughout these 2+ months of use. It's not so strong that it's bothersome during practice, but I've noticed that it lingers on my clothes for days afterwards. I'd love to be able to practice in my pj's and go straight to bed, but the smell is unpleasant enough that I don't want to sleep in those clothes all night. Bottom line, this is a decent purchase for the cost, especially for a beginner just trying things out. I will be looking for a higher quality mat, though.

Great Mat
Very good yoga mat. I am not yoga expert but this works great for me. It is very soft and helps my wrists and knees not hurt. Beautiful color and the strap to roll it up is great.

This is a brilliant mat. Thick enough to stop any pain on the back when lying down, but stable enough to stand on and do exercises such as burpees and push ups and balancing exercises. It's just pretty big if you want to transport it anywhere but that is what you get for added comfort! The carry strap is really handy too!

The Mat to Match Your Yoga Maven's Dreams
Knowing nothing about a gift I buy is not my way. So I researched yoga mats endlessly online before discovering Balance. Material seems tops for support, comfort, and durability, and the purple met the recipient's desire. Thick, made of non-toxic synthetics, and supplied with tying and carrying bands, the mat filled my bill and her notion of a yoga mat. With a warranty of unusual length per buck spent, this is grand stuff. Select the set of 5 exercise bands, and you get a good carry bag for them, plus a useful download of strengthening and agility-increasing tools. It seemed a Best Buy, so far as I could determine and is one so far as my Other Half reports. When it heads to Yoga Heaven one day, its clone will be ordered from Amazon Prime. We ain't chicken livers, you know.
