Nice quality once you get it wired up
The small form factor is nice and it the stem and metal knob have a quality look and feel. Once you have it installed, it works fine. Two issues with the installation. First the wires are incredibly fine, I think 24 guage (my 22 guage stripper couldn't strip it). This made it difficult to strip, but also to get a good crimp. Second, the wiring directions on the package don't work. Using three separate wires as for a normal switch led to the lights being on at a very low level even when off. On the Amazon product page there's an alternative "simplified" wiring diagram, which does work - the black wire is connected to the positive source, and the white and red are wired together to the lamps, and there's no connection to ground. Doesn't make sense to me, and I hope it's safe - at least the loads are low.

Expensive but works very well!
My RV LED dinette lights were too bright, except when I am reading or doing puzzles. Otherwise I used to pull out the bulb from 1 of the 2 lights. I bought this switch and followed the 2-wire instructions and it works perfectly. Now I can dim the lights to watch TV and have them on bright to do puzzles. Winner! Works very well with my LED bulbs, totally from off to full and lots of range in between. Perfect for my RV application.

Wouldn't bother buying again
Wired everything as per instructions.... didn't dim, just turned on and when turned off it went one degree darker and then shut off. Whole thing feels very cheap and fragile. I ended up just throwing away and going a whole different route. Don't bother buying this

Works great but has a major design and safety flaw
Overall this dimmer has been great. Always worked flawlessly. To install I used a forstner bit to drill a recess in a piece of plywood to the required depth needed to thread the locknut. So not the easiest install if you don't have the tools. The dimmer worked great until pulled a blanket off my bed and it generated static electricity. When I touched the dimmer, because it's metal and conducts electricity, it shorted the controller and caught fire. I had to immediately shut power off on my master switch and prevent my van from burning up. A plastic knob would have prevented this from happening.

straight up doesn't work
i liked the look of these. for such a simple component, 30 felt spendy but i wanted the aesthetic. bought two of these. I decided to test this before wiring it permanently into my camper build but it doesn't work. I've tried wiring them two different ways, as recommended and just in line but grounded. neither way works. Absurds that i received a useless cheap product for $30. do not risk buying this, just get a less expensive dimmer that is more likely to work.

Works fine
This unit arrived quickly in good working order. The wiring directions are clear. They offer two wiring options. I found that their recommended wiring option works perfectly, while the simplified wiring resulted in some flickering in my test circuit (which used a noisey 12V transformer). Use their recommended wiring!

No indication of needing a specific shaft length.
The shaft for this product isn’t long enough, I’m just now getting around to installing these and now I can’t return them because I missed the return window. No way to contact seller for an exchange. Straight garbage.

Didn't work at all.
I finally got around to installing this and it doesn't work. I ohm it out and simply no continuity and now I am outiside of the return window.
