These are as good if not better than the OEM batteries. No Authentication warning when inserted into camera. This means they are fully decided. Easy to use and charges quickly. These last through all day photo shoots and are great for my travel gigs. Canon batteries are expensive. These work just well at a fraction of the original cost.

I waited to really test this battery before I posted a review and not just say it arrived on time and it worked coz I took ten shots of flowers growing in the backyard. That is so far from what I need this battery for. I do event photography and street fairs and festivals in the San Francisco / Bay Area and use a Canon 7D and the newer Canon 7D mark II. I use battery grips on both units and I use high capacity cards on both as well. (I have a bunch of 128 gb CF cards and a couple of 128 gb SD cards). When I go to street fairs and festivals, I am there for the whole day and take thousands of shots. I finish at least three cards and almost always use up a set of batteries before the day is done. Honestly I didn't have high hopes for this battery, and if it did survive the long events I go to, I only expect it to last three to four months before it degrades a notch or two on their life meter reading. I bought three batteries last November 2015, and it did arrive on time. Kudos to the seller. The cheap price was a double edge sword so to speak as it is both an attraction and a warning. The phrase "you get what you paid for" reverberated in my head but I took a chance. I reasoned with myself, thinking that it is cheap enough that if it lasted me two events then it paid for itself. It's late March 2016 now as I'm writing this, the three batteries that I bought went through at least ten events. It took forever for it to run out of juice in my old Canon 7D. In one instance I used two 128 cards and still have some bars left to take more pictures. That impressed me! However I was a little bit dismayed when I used it on the 7D mark II with the GPS on. It had a shorter life. But to be fair, I also used two original Canon batteries on the 7D mark II with the GPS on and they too didn't last long as well. I went online to discover that using the GPS is the worst thing, it drains the battery so fast. So it only means that it was just a "normal" drain when I use GPS on the mark II. Four months has passed and those three batteries are still going strong nothing wrong with them as far as I know. I will update this four months from now if anything happens. So in the end, my unscientific study of these batteries that were used (and still going to use) and tested in the real world, has my highest recommendations to buy. There might be one or two units shipped out there that are bad but those things happen. Thank goodness that all three of the batteries I have are great, I indeed feel that the STK batteries paid for itself already. If it lasted a year I'm very happy with it. IF it lasts for two then I'll be shocked in a good way. Come on it's 13 bucks each, that's $39 for three and not $40 (the lowest price I've seen) for one original Canon battery would cost!

Years ago, when I bought my brand new Canon Rebel XT, I also bought a spare battery. It was an aftermarket product, the price was good and although it was not Canon brand it looked good in the photo..... When I received it I was very disappointed; the battery did not look as good as in the photo, actually looked bad, it was even ugly. Not a product that apparently I could trust on, and that bothered me a lot! I wrote my complaint to the seller and he quickly answered me saying that those batteries were even better than the original Canon, and advised me to use it with confidence. He said that if after various uses I was still unhappy with the product they would do a full refund. The man was absolutely right! I loved that battery during all the years I used it. I never had problems with it and always gave me significantly more shooting duration than my other original Canon battery. Based on this experience I bought with confidence this battery LP-E6 STK for my recently acquired 60D and so far I have not had any trouble. The price difference is HUGE compared to the Canon original battery, so I recommend this product to everyone. Btw..., this LP-E6 STK does not look ugly, it looks fantastic! Very similar to the original! IMPORTANT NOTE: A week after the purchase I received a communication from the seller saying that they had received reports of some issues about this battery had trouble when charging in the original Canon charger. They offered a charger FOR FREE that would charge this battery without issues, and could be used to charge the original Canon battery as well. That tells a lot about a responsible seller, no? Despite I hadn't had any problem at all with the original Canon charger I took anyway the free charger they offered (just in case). It's a nice charger, but I haven't had the need of using it so far. I had purchased SterlinkTek batteries in 2006 for a Canon 350D. They worked great and lasted 5 years before I started to experience age-related issues. Having moved up to a LP-E6 powered camera, I tried some aftermarket alternatives. Many of the brands have tested to only be within the 1000-1500mAh capacity range, falling short of both their stated capacities, and the original Canon LP-E6 capacity. With the fantastic customer Support that SterlingTek is known for, and my previous good experience with their batteries, they were one brand that I wanted to try once again. Using a recently calibrated iCharger 206B, I ran a few discharge tests on two of the SterlingTek LP-E6 batteries I received. Testing with a 500mA drain from a 8.4V full charge to a depleted 6.0V, the batteries gave me 1935mAh and 1871mAh. This is 2/3 of the claimed capacity. The claimed capacity numbers are being increased by SterlingTek to "compete" with other brands that also do not meet their stated capacities. An otherwise reputable company should be more truthful with its ratings - these batteries DO surpass the genuine Canon LP-E6 rated capacity, unlike many other brands! Testing SterlingTek's LP-E6 battery charger, the batteries get slightly overcharged at 8.42V and 8.44V in my tests. 4.22V per cell is a bit higher than the 4.20V they should stop at, but it shouldn't be enough to cause major cell damage. - The original Canon LP-E6 battery is rated at 1800mAh and sells for MSRP. Running with a 500mA drain, my 2-year old Canon battery provided 2095mAh. - The SterlingTek LP-E6 battery is sold as 2600mAh, but it tests around 1900mAh. This battery sells for 1/3 the price of the Canon. For the price, the SterlingTek LP-E6 batteries provide good value, and the capacity is very close to the original Canon product. I cannot provide 5 stars because the battery capacity is falsely advertised, like many aftermarket batteries are today. These batteries surpass the Canon's stated capacity, at 1/3 the price. SterlingTek's customer support is also very responsive and helpful. I recommend these batteries over other brands that I have tested. I have purchased two more! *This review has been written to better reflect my view on the VALUE of these batteries, rather than focusing on the marketing tactics of false capacity numbers*

Vendors / manufacturers always ask for reviews immediately after one receives their product - too early for the purchaser / end user to have made a thorough and accurate evaluation of their product. I would expect any & all products to be in perfect condition and function perfectly when first received.............but what about a month from receipt........or a year from receipt............or yes, even a few years after receipt? How is the product performing after a period time, use and testing - THIS my friends is the million dollar question! As the headline indicates, I am basing this review of Sterling Tek's replacement battery (for the Canon LP-E6) more on their battery that I purchased back in April, 2011 - well AFTER time, use and testing. Well, it's very good. Much less expensive than the Canon product and do believe that the STK battery actually does contain more mAH (rated @ 2600 as opposed to the Canon 1800 mAH) making for stronger power. My experience "has been" (past tense) with the STK replacement - it charges quickly using the Canon wall mount charger, it holds a charge much longer than the Canon battery and after many, many, many re-charges, my Canon 7D camera battery indicator is showing a 99% efficiency after a full re-charge. And, oh yes, for those nay sayers who might say that the camera will not recognize this STK battery or that the camera will not give you a true and accurate reading on this battery - WRONG, WRONG WRONG. The camera (or at least MY camera) has no problem what-so-ever recognizing the STK battery and I firmly believe the camera is showing totally true and accurate status on the battery's performance. So, based on the STK LP-E6 replacement battery that I bought back on April of 2011 and continue to use, I would say the STK is an EXCELLENT product. As to the ( 2 ) STK Canon LP-E6 replacement that I just recently bought in June, 2014, I see what appears to be an even better product. The battery's come packaged in their own individual boxes, inside a small plastic pouch, and yes, they do include that little plastic base plate (that I noticed many people overly concerned about).............and most importantly both batteries charged quickly and both batteries showed a 100% charge and the Canon 7D battery menu shows a performance rating of 3 green bars (the maximum number of bars). Bottom line: ( If ) these recently purchased batteries hold u as well as the one I bought almost three year ago, I would rate these are SUPERIOR. PS: Do us a favor folks - Do not give product reviews on something that you just received and have not had time to test it after months and months of use.................SOMETHING SHOULD BE EXPECTED TO WORK OR PERFORM perfectly when it FIRST received.................but how is it after a year or two or three? This is the question!

Great battery for my Canon 80D

I am a "serious amateur" photographer who regularly takes quite a few photos using a Canon 5DMk3 with firmware ver 1.2.3. I used the OEM Canon battery charger that came with the camera to charge the SterlingTek battery - no negative issues (i.e. charged in a normal amount of time, no excessive heat). I placed the battery in the camera which displayed the battery at 100% and three green squares for Recharge Performance. Used the battery for a shoot that night and took 1075 photos (low light ballet performance) - battery info on the camera said 70% capacity left! Next day, I checked the battery indicator and it said 63%. I used the same battery that night without re-charging it and took an additional 645 photos; battery info read 40% remaining. I re-charged the battery (no problems) and the battery charged back to 100% and three green squares for Recharge Performance. The OEM battery supplied with the camera, works fine but after a year of use and MANY recharges, only displays two bars for Recharge Performance; I was very reluctant to spend $60 for a spare "just in case" battery. After reading many of the reviews on Amazon, I decided to try this battery and am very pleased I spent $20 for the SterlingTek battery!! I would buy this battery again and recommend it with no reservations. I will update this review in the future if the facts change. UPDATE 10/27/2015 The OEM battery that came with my camera no longer accepts a recharge. The original STK battery has performed flawlessly so I had no hesitation in buying another as a back-up. I would recommend this battery without hesitation.

I was a bit skeptical when I ordered the STK battery, especially about the claim of 2600mAh. But for the price, I'd thought I give it a shot. I've used it over a month now and I'm glad I got it. I've owned a Canon 40D (used it for a year or so), 50D (primary body for a couple of years), 7D (main body for past 4 years), and recently got a 7D mk II. Besides studio work, I shoot location and street and travel, so I've always made sure I have "enough" batteries. Besides extra Canon batteries, I've bought Lenmar, Opteka, Wasabi, some off-brands... and now STK. Unless they flake out right away, it seems most all my Li-ion camera batteries last 4 years before they become unusable. This is true for Canon brand as well as third party batteries. Just before I got the new 7D mk II, three of the LP-E6 I'd used with my 7D for the past 4 years stopped holding a charge. Two were Canon brand one Opteka. I've got one more Canon from 2010 that's not 100% reliable. (I've got it clearly marked and use it only for casual shooting until it fully dies, and I carry a spare.) While I typically got about 1500 images per charge with the 7D with a LP-E6 in good shape, the new 7D mk II is a hungrier beast. With GPS turned off, and shooting/reviewing in my typical style, I'm getting about 700-800 images per charge with the stock Canon brand battery. The STK battery in my 7D mk II camera right now reads 794 shutter clicks and 25% capacity remaining. That matches the general impression I've had re STK: at least as good as the OEM Canon. BTW, it seems to function exactly like the Canon, too. Charges in the Canon charger no prob, and shows up in the camera's Battery Info registry just fine, too. For me, whether "2600mAh" is a true claim or not, this is a great battery and well worth the price of $14. Something that impressed me about the company was that they emailed me a note after purchase asking how I liked it and to review shipping service and product. I know good reviews help sell products, but they've got to have confidence that they're selling us a good product if they are encouraging real customers to express their impressions privately and publicly. If my impression changes in the near future, I'll update this review. In the meantime, I'm gonna buy another STK!
