Loud, reliable, and worth it
We added the Ring alarm outdoor siren to our home security setup, and it’s been a great addition. The siren is loud enough to be heard clearly from the street, which gives us peace of mind knowing it’ll grab attention if needed. Installation was mostly straightforward — the instructions are clear, and it integrates seamlessly with the Ring app. The only hiccup I had was reaching the mounting spot. We didn’t have a long ladder, so getting it up high enough took a bit of improvisation. Once it was up, though, everything worked perfectly. The alarm is a bit heavier than I thought, it is sturdy, and the flashing light adds an extra layer of visibility. It’s also weather-resistant, which is a must in the UK. We’ve had a few heavy rain days since installing it, and it’s held up without issue. If you’re already in the Ring ecosystem, this siren is a solid upgrade. Just make sure you’ve got the right tools.

Great value and quality
I got this as part of an Amazon bundle. It is easy to fit, weatherproof and boy, is it loud, All controlled from the base station via the app, it is easy to configure and when powered from a mains adapter, provides a visible illuminated RING emblem. Highly recommended to compliment a Ring alarm system.

Easy to install and properly loud – a must with Ring Alarm
I’m a big fan of Ring devices and, as usual, the setup is straightforward. This was easy to install and integrates perfectly with the Ring Alarm system. The siren itself is loud, which is exactly what you want from an outdoor unit. In my opinion, this is a must-have if you’re running a Ring Alarm base unit, as the internal siren alone isn’t likely to be heard by neighbours. I’ve had this installed for a couple of years now and the battery life is still going strong, which is reassuring for something mounted outdoors. You will need a ladder to get it installed, but once it’s up it’s completely hassle-free. Simple, effective and does exactly what it’s meant to do.

Another great Ring product
Bought the outdoor siren to complement our Ring security system which in itself is a high quality but much cheaper replacement for our decade-old and comparatively clunky ADT system. Now the siren is in place but it is non functional as I don’t want to go up and change the batteries with a certain frequency and I still don’t know where I’m going to find a socket and wire, drill a hole through the wall or a window post to connect it to a power source. And somehow this will lead to an additional unsightly cable either inside or outdoors. Having said that, this is a good siren, it looks and feels sturdy. And I quite like the way it s looks on our house. The sound when I tested it was quite loud and like all Ring alarm product its super easy to connect it to your app. I should say that I was a bit disappointed by the size. it is fairly compact and heavy, but not as large as our former ADT box. When you wan to put it on a wall you’ll first have to fix the back plate, and you’ll probably need a ladder. Personally I wouldn’t recommend it, as doing DYI on a higher ladder is dangerous per definition.

I just love the Ring alarm products.
After a recent shed break in, which Ring was spot on - alarm went off as soon as the garden gate was open (outdoor gate sensor) and woke me up at 3am BUT stupidly I had no outdoor siren because I decided no one listens to them anyway... But actually, the thieves didn't want to hang around long and I'm positive if a siren was blaring they would have ran away as soon as it went off. So, I installed the Ring siren outside, great bit of kit super easy to pair to the Ring system & very easy to install on the wall. I've installed old school alarms in the past and been scared to death by them going off due to Tampers etc and can generally be a pain in the butt but this is so easy, when disarmed tamper pings on the app but doesn't scream in your face so your quite free to fiddle and play, don't need to feel like you have a ticking bomb in your hands up the ladder. It looks tidy, has a glow at night (can be turned on/off) and looks quite swish but I understand some people won't like it so it can be switched off in the app, and the siren is surrounded in LEDs while will look very obvious to anyone who looks out there windows in the night. Volume control is also quite nice, whole system is just brilliant. Not a ring camera fan, but ring alarms are absolutely spot on.

Loud, secure, no wires and long battery life? Yes please.
As I'm quite happy with my Ring Alarm in general, there is no surprise the Outdoor Siren is also a good product. Let me keep it short, no bs: 1. Loud. I'm not sure if wired would be louder, as mine is running on batteries, but definitely won't be quieter. It is loud and annoying (in a good way). You can choose for 5 levels of loudness and duration from 1 to 10 minutes. 2. Super easy setup. The app guides you step by step. It's setup in matter of minutes. 3. Power options. Hardwires, battery pack or simple D size batteries. Have mine for 2.5 years and batteries just show as full. Exactly what you need, as you don't wanna be up there changing batteries every few months. Ah yes - this way no wires so simple DIY setup! 4. Good functionality. In comparison with classic alarms which do nothing except sound, you get full event history, lights up with red when alarming, sound & duration settings. 5. Manual sounding the siren if needed & easy testing. 6. Good durability. 2.5 years in irish beautiful "sunshine" and "light" breezes :D TO NOTE: Siren light up with blinking red just if hard-wired or on a battery pack, on D batteries it won't in order to preserve the batteries for the actual siren. Overall, it's a simple yet good and reliable device, despite not cheap - offers good value for money and it's a must have in my opinion if you have a ring alarm, as the base station alone is not so loud and is just inside the house. Stay well and safe friends! Cheers!

Read this if you have an old hard wired alarm
I have successfully wired this siren (and the Ring keypad too) to be permanently hard wired using the existing cables to my old hard wired alarm - with only moderate DIY experience. Firstly, don’t mess around with wiring if in any doubt. However I found this to be a very simple job I could carry out safely in my own home. Basically I removed the old keypad and the old siren, not that carefully either just snipped the wires. I do have a simple cheap electrical tester kit which can give a voltage reading. Both devices had multi-coloured wires feeding them for all the various communication. Loads of wires- but don’t be put off. Among the coloured wires were red and black. I simply stripped these back (very thin and obviously low voltage but I turned the power off anyway) and then when turning the power back on and testing them, found them to be 12.7v. Perfect for the Siren. So I simply stuck those wires into the terminals and it worked straight away. I just snipped the ends of all the other colours and taped them up just in case they’re ever needed. For interest, the keypad requires lower voltage. 5v I think. And it doesn’t have wiring terminals, just a micro USB. However I searched on Amazon for a ‘12v to micro USB’ adapter and for about £8 I got a really small little gizmo. Existing wires just wago connector/choc block onto the adapter wires, and then there’s a micro usb. Luckily I had a space behind the plasterboard to shove it all into. I had to use a Stanley knife to trim some of the plastic moulding off the USB plug to get it into the tight spot on the back of the key pad, but managed eventually. Now the siren and keypad are fully wired with battery backup. I recommend investing in a voltage tester if you think about trying this job and test your wires carefully to avoid injury, or damage to the product. As for the alarm- it’s absolutely great. Love it.
