The box hasp has a swinging latch on it that goes into the staple to keep the box latched. Brass Plated hasp and screws. Screws work with a magnetic screwdriver.

Worked fine for a jewelry box my husband made for a benifit auction. However went to a local store 2 weeks later and found it for a fraction of the cost.

Decorative hasp not easy to use on a flat surface mount
The loop part of the hinge needs to be recessed into the wood surface to work as expected. Looks great just a challenge to properly mount.
