This is a well-made 5-year journal. It seems well-bound -- although time is the only real test for that -- and the cover has a pleasant texture. The book lies flat, and there is a ribbon bookmark. The paper feels good and is a nice comfortable creamy-white shade. I've been using a fountain pen with gall ink and had zero bleed through or feathering. There's just enough space for a couple of lines per year, which encourages you to think carefully how you want that day to be remembered in the future.Two small additions would me this a perfect 5-year journal, IMO. First, additions of days (M, T, W, etc) next to the weather symbols for each entry. Should be difficult to add those on the same line as the weather icons, and it would be helpful when looking at old entries since leap year messes up the logical progression year-to-year. Second, it would be nice if it had an elastic band closure like the Rhodia or Leuchtturm journals. It's probably not necessary for someone who keeps the book on their desk or nightstand, but for those who travel, it would help keep the pages protected.Still, excellent quality for the price. Will be buying more as gifts.

After much searching here in Amazon, I settled with this 5 yr journal/diary for 3 reasons: 1. the size is larger than most hardcovers in comparison. 2. Simplicity of the page layout with room to mark the weather. 3. It's super cute.I honestly wasn't sure if I'd like this when I ordered it because there weren't many reviews to go on. Afterall, what the heck is a "soft wood cover"? The cover is soft for sure! I love it. It's not wood but gives the appearance in print and the grooved indentations. I am pretty confident this will hold up beautifully for 5 years! I just might buy another one to have when 5 yrs are up :)

I purchased the 8x10 softwood journal. I am very happy with the look and feel of it. It's large, the words on the front are pressed into the "soft" wood grain pattern cover. The pages are nice and thick and there is a fabric/cloth book marker attached. The only complaint I have is that the binding/edge of the book is a little flexible (see last photo), so after five years time it may start to deteriorate. Granted, they may have designed it this way so that it is easy to open and flip through pages. I will say, when you open it, even to the first page, the book stays open and doesn't try to close on you. I purchased this one for a gift, and am considering purchasing more for myself and for more gifts!

I’ve only had this journal for a few days but I really like it. It is much bigger than many of the other 5-year journals I considered (I ordered the 8x10). It’s easy to write in and has enough space for several sentences. The paper is good quality. I appreciate the detail of the weather icons. There’s a ribbon to keep your place. And it’s made in the USA which is increasingly rare on Amazon.

I thought this was overpriced, but it’s really nice. I purchased two different journals and this one was supposed to be for my husband. As soon as this arrived I stole it from my husband and gave him the one I bought for myself! You’re going to love this!

I will use this as a 5-year journal beginning on January 1st, so I haven't written in it yet. I was impressed by the price, the quality looks good and the format is just what I wanted. I have used a more expensive journal the last 5 years and feel that this one is comparable. The main difference is that other one has a few blank pages at the beginning to list birthdays and make general notes; this one starts right off with January 1 which is all that I need.

Just received this journal, but quality did not disappoint. Outside cover has a textured feel. Excited about using this, I think it will still be nice at the end of 5 years.

This is a beautifully crafted product at a great price. I bought one for each of my kids, ages 15 and 12 for Christmas. I bought myself a Rustico 5 year journal, which was considerably more expensive—it too was beautiful but has specific prompts whereas this journal does not. You can just jot down any thought for the day. My 15 year old son has been using his daily—I think it will be neat for him to look back at age 20 and see what his 15 year old self thought.

This is a great 5 year diary with enough space to record meaningful entries each day.

Happy with it - it is what I ordered a d expected. I like the weather symbols on the top of each day and day of the week indicator. Still completing it each day - so far so good!!

Really glad I decided to grab this 5 year journal. Never done one of these before but I wanted to start it at the beginning of 2021. It arrived just in time. The cover is solid and looks nice. Cool texture as well.There’s 5 lines under each date. Perfect amount of space for a little summary of my day. It also lets you circle the day of the week and what the weather was like. Which was a nice touch.Only other thing I would’ve liked the book to have would be an elastic strap attached to the back cover that you can stretch over the front and keep the book closed.
