Check what you have before you buy
FIRST REVIEW Phillips changed the controller and you can't use this product AT ALL. Of course in theory this would have worked perfect, unfortunately it is a waste of money now. Sorry for the 1 Star but consumers need to know.UPDATE: I've changed my rating to 4 stars. I'm not exactly sure what is going on with the Phillips Hue Light Strips...but here's what I've learned. I bought a pair of light strips a while back from Best Buy with plans to install over and under cabinet lighting in my new house. I bought these...splitters...extenders...yada yada yada...I go to install and the original light strips I purchase were wired directly into the controller and there was no way to expand or modify AT the controller....which led to my first review of a 1 star rating and my recommendation not to purchase. FAST FORWARD...I purchased another light strip...this time through Amazon...to install around my TV and wouldn't you know you can use this adapter to modify right at the controller. SO...this product DOES do what is advertised perfectly. And I would in fact recommend this product to anyone. I would only caution the caveat of which light strip controller did you get.

Works good
Works well. I have one wire that just seems to be a bit loose, but everything still works great and since this sit on top of a cabinet, it'll never move or get bumped so no worries. One tip, as pointed out in another review, there are two "red" connectors on the adapter and only 1 red wire coming out of the controller along with a brown (which has no corresponding color on the connectors). I followed the advise in the previous review, bright red connector to red wire and then brown wire to the slightly darker red with a dark line together. This worked perfectly without any issues. Could be clearer but not too hard to figure out.

Making Philips Hue even better
I have 6 Philips Hue light strips and controllers. Plus a *lot* of extension strips. I have purchased quite a few different LED light strips and the Philips Hue are by far the best. But, wiring them the way Philips intended would be very awkward, result in a lot of wasted strips, and way too many controllers being purchased.Along comes Litcessory. The Direct-to-Controller hardwired adapter allowed me to easily and quickly put a splitter in place. (The Litcessory splitters and extensions are great, too.) These allow me to maximize my investment in Philips Hue strips and controllers without breaking the bank. For the hardwired adapter, yes, you do need to snip the wire coming out of the controller, strip the wires, and insert them in to the Litcessory connectors. And, yes, it sounds scary as heck. And, yes, your heart will skip a beat the first time you snip the wire. But, it is not hard. If you have never snipped and stripped wires before, then just go really slow and steady. And pay attention when you plug the wires in to the Litcessory connections. I put on 6 of these puppies without a problem. Thanks to Litcessory for making Philips Hue even better!

These are great for getting the most out of Hue strips
During my kitchen Hue light strip conversion I ended up by just about every sort of adapter, extender and splitter that Licessory makes to get the job done with the least amount of strips left over. All did what they were advertised to do and ended up not only saving me from buying extra strips, but also using several power blocks to run them. They are dainty little things because they have to be to hook up to the tiny pins on the strips, so be careful when installing them.

Don't know.
So I tried using this product, but when I plugged everything in, my lights would not turn on. So I contacted Litcessory to see if they could help me figure out this problem. I sent them photos of the set-up, and explained the situation. Their CS was slow. I had to send them multiple emails. And after they replied, they said they had to contact level 2 support. But after that, they never contacted me. So I can't say if this product works correctly or not. Hopefully you have better luck with this product.

Great product; applies to older model Hue Lightstrips
Jumped in and took the risk that I'd be able to splice-and dice for my split-cabinet install, so that I'd only need one controller (despite my fear of all things electrical). Note that this adapter model is for older Hue lightstrips; if you're buying a new lightstrip, like me, you need the new adapter: Direct-to-Controller Adapter for Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus (Hardwired Version, White). Once I got the correct adapter, was very easy to install, works great. You just need to have a basic sense of attention to detail and thoughtfulness (like matching colors to colors, keeping things oriented correctly, and matching color coding of ordering of wires on the lightstrip to color coding at the adapter). Easy peasy, and so much better than the mess of wiring on the old puck lights this replaced. Jump in and good luck!

Won’t join different Hue connections together
If you were trying to tie the old HUE connectors to the new HUE connectors, don’t waste your time and money on this connector as it does not match the smaller each UV connectors.
Q**.
Does not allow full colour scope
Ok so I love Litcessory products and I have been using almost all their range of Hue accessories, but this one simply don't work. i have tried 2 different boxes with always the same result:When setting the strip to pure blue, the strip will still light the white LED.This does not happen when using the native connector.Tried with different strips and different controllers but same result

Does not connect to latest hardwired version
I should have taken more time to review the comments on this item. It does not work with the current lightstrip hardwired version. Very frustrating.. The older comments must apply to the old version of the lightstrip. You will find that the lightstrip is sealed with a plastic sheath which prevents this accessory being connected. One option might be to open up the sheath to see what lies beneath. Anyone tried that? The lightstrip is an expensive piece of kit to start experimental incisions.

this will not be compatible with them so make sure you check your controller before buying this to avoid disappointment.
If you have the old model Philips hue light strips, this adapter allows you to create a fork from the controller so you can run two (or more) strips from a single controller.Beware, if you have the newer hard wired philips hue light strips, this will not be compatible with them so make sure you check your controller before buying this to avoid disappointment.

Appear to be good but dont work with latest hue version 4
Bought to extend the kitchen hue lighting strips I have just bought but it appears these connectors only work with the older versions of the hue light strips. Mine appear to have the smaller micro 6 pin adapters..V4? Not the companies fault and as I had opened I don't feel I can send back. But would have appreciated if the site made it clear the versions of hue these fit as I would not have bought them. I see from the questions and answers that some time in the future there may be v4 versions

Expensive but it works
Fiddly and expensive for what it is but it works. Why Phillips don't make this stuff is beyond me
