When Amazon delivery pressed the doorbell, it was like Angels in Heavens sounded the Trumpets. The clouds parted and within moments we went from a cold, cloudy, and rainy day to 85 and sunny. I quickly snatched the package up to protect it from Porch Pirates as they are on constant watch and run routes in these parts hoping for a high-value win. This would have been the mecca of all grabs had they got their hands on this beauty. As the tape was removed from the box, it was like the feeling you get when you remove a large amount of static cling from a new 8K tv. You knew you were prepping something you would enjoy for years to come. As I opened the flaps of the box she was revealed. I got the same feeling revealing this as I did revealing something on prom night for the first time in 1994, we'll save that story for a different review.As I reached into the box to remove this amazing unit she felt sturdy, she felt firm, but it felt secure. Me and Mrs. Jones have become even closer, but it has caused issues with her husband. I used the product to accommodate my 175’ garden hose.. Fits perfectly

I have had metal reels, fancier ones, more expensive ones, Made In America ones - - - but these things just work, they take a beating, they take the sun, they are easily fixed when they break, and they're cheap enough that when you run one over in the driveway you don't loose sleep over it. Currently I have two, one front one back, both with 75' 5/8 hose on them. When the feed hose gives out (they usually do) I'll replace them with some plastic coil hose, for the length and the flexibility. I'm thinking of filling the voids in the handle and the base with sand, to give it some weight to pull against: on a cool day a stiff hose will pull this thing over before the hose unreels (see above about the feed hoses breaking.)

We’ve had this for half a summer now and it seems to be holding up well. It’s plastic so it’s a little rickety but we haven’t had any problems yet. I definitely won’t be leaving outside in the winter though - will prolly have to bring it into the basement since our garage is detached and not insulated - or else the plastic may crack. The handle to roll up the hose cranks smoothly and getting the hose rolled onto the reel is easy. Where the hose connects to the reel does leak but I’m not sure if that’s our hose (it’s really old) or the connector. It was way more expensive than the ones at Home Depot but I only saw the ones at Home Depot after I had bought this one and didn’t want to deal with returning it. If this one doesn’t hold up, I would prolly go to Home Depot first. So, due to potentially poor quality and price, I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
