These mats are really essential for cleaning. It was nice to have a great parts view to use as a reference (glock, 1911, AR15, etc) while protecting the work surface. UsefulThingy had great prices and delivery was quick. I'd buy again from them.

Bought it to set handguns on while cleaning them. It works for that, but since the cloth top on it absorbs any cleaning solvents or oils that get spilled on it I'm not sure how long it will last. The price was cheap so I'm not too worried about it. That said it is a nice sized mat and the Glock diagram on it is a plus.However, I think instead it would make a really nice computer gaming mouse pad. The extra size would be a help with some first person shooter games. :-)That said I did find one after I purchased this one for $2 less than I paid. Link is here. This mat seems to be well made, I have had it found a couple months or so. I just recently used it, the mat works as it should. It protects your weapon from the surface below the mat. has a nice diagram of a glock pistol, showing all the parts of a glock and there corresponding locations on the mat numbered out of the right.

Works great and the diagram, while generic-ish is useful. protects the gun and parts while field stripped. Thick pad will also absorb any impact if you drop. You will need to have a larger surface area to protect any splatter from from cleaning (e.g., brushes spraying a bit of solvent/oil/cleaner) so keep that in mind.
