I have tried everything to get rid of Asian Tiger Mosquitoes in my yard in Southern California but nothing worked until I decided to purchase this Biogents Mosquito Trap! Yes it’s expensive but it really does work! I also have the Dunks to keep them from breading new mosquitoes! I bought my first Biogents Trap 3 years ago and bought 2 more over the last 2 years. The picture shows about 50 Tiger Mosquitoes killed per week in the first summer’s use. Along with getting rid of the mosquitoes larva with the Dunks I find maybe 3 or 4 dead mosquitoes each week! I rarely get bit anymore and love working in my backyard again!!!!

I hesitated to pay this much for a mosquito trap, but I had faith that, since it was aimed at the tiger mosquitos specifically, and had been studied in a peer-reviewed journal for pest vector control, it must be the Real Deal. And, if it works to capture a lot of mosquitos in my yard (and my kids get very bad reactions to these tiger mosquito bites), it would be worth it. I had faith, even, that it would work.In the past month (August - Sept), I've kept it running non-stop, day and night, and tried it in several locations in my backyard – near the heavier plant overgrowth, near the vegetable garden, near the lounge chairs by the pool where we tend to get bitten – and, though I check the trap almost every day, I usually find no insects besides one or two small moths, and, less often, maybe one mosquito. And yet, we are still being stalked by these aggressive little buggers, which leave pancake-sized skin reactions on my young children.Today I dumped out maybe a scant tablespoon of dead flying insect bodies from the past month, and it was pretty much all tiny moths. I put the trap back together carefully. I did a few more tasks in the backyard over the next half hour, and had to go inside because I was getting buzzed by skeeters, and realized that I had been bitten on my lower legs and the itching was setting in.So, we still have plentiful and active Asian tiger mosquitos, but this pricey gadget is not catching them.I regret the purchase, and do not recommend this product.

Pull in those pesky flying parasites, but only with the lure formula. Easily caught at least 20 mosquitos first night. Be careful removing because a few can escape once you open the lid or if the fan turns off. Take the mesh screen capture bag out and dip the pest in very hot water, no chance of escape, no waiting to dry them out, instant death

This thing is amazing if you use it per the instructions. It's definitely pricey but for how easy it is to set up and use, it's definitely worth it. The first time I checked the trap, I cringed a bit at how many dead (and dying) mosquitos it caught. It will definitely catch other small flies at a low and I noticed a small beetle or two in there, so just keep that in mind if you want to be nice to your local environment. It definitely primarily catches mosquitos though by a wide margin.

it attracts some mosquitoes. However I have the trap on the patio and it still swarms with mosquitoes. I am not sure if its worth the investment

Gave it 4 stars primarily because it's super expensive for what it is (ie, plastic). It does work, however. Here in eastern Georgia mosquito season began March 1st so I put it out. In the 30 days since there's almost 1/2 of a bag of them caught, some still buzzing. Several hundreds at least. I put the machine on a fence line near some bushes where they seem to congregate. Mostly those little striped asian tiger skeeters. So yeah it works, and if you don't mind spending 200 bucks on a small plastic fan you might even be impressed.

The media could not be loaded. I moved from WA to AZ, and couldn't figure out why my UV bug zapper and octenol wouldn't reduce the number of mosquitos in my yard. In WA the zapper worked perfectly catching upwards of 40+ mosquitos per night, but in AZ it would only attract moths. Last summer we had a monsoon that created a breading ground for mosquitoes in the desert. I searched until I realized that it's not the same mosquito in AZ. I put out the Biogents trap and in less than a week it made an unbelievable difference. Before, I couldn't go outside for 5 min without being bit multiple times by the insanely aggressive Asian Tiger Mosquito. After 5 days of having the Biogents trap out, I put on a pair of shorts and went into the back yard offering myself up as a biting buffet - I needed to know if it worked, or if I should send it back. A month prior to putting it out, I couldn't go outside onto the patio or into the garden areas without being swarmed by relentless mosquitos that would bite me over and over again. Yesterday, I gardened for 2 hours around my entire back yard and did not get bit a single time. This device is priced very high, but after experiencing a bite free day in the yard I must say it's worth it if you are a mosquito magnet like me. I put the traps out as soon as the temps rise to 55 degrees, so that I can reduce the population as they emerge and start breeding. I have 4 traps around my home.

I really wanted this to work. I had it running all summer, day and night. I kept it loaded with their recommended scent and moved it occasionally to try a "better" spot. Nothing. It did catch small flying insects that randomly wandered over it, but the Asian tiger mosquito that it is supposed to be great at drawing in and catching, well...it just didn't work. A very expensive lesson. The only thing I can say for all the positive reviews is that if they were coming from a small single known location you might be able to set it up right by that. The fan does pull in small flying insect that get too close, so???
