Old Witch and the Polka Dot Ribbon was loved by my daughter and now my granddaughter as well. I know your children and grandchildren will too! The bonus is the recipe for the magic nut cake printed in the story. It is actually the best pumpkin bread recipe that I have ever tasted. We have baked it for two generations now and the recipe is requested by all our family and friends. who taste it. Have fun reading the book and baking the "magic nut cake" together!

I bough this book for my daughters in 1976. They always loved it. To this day, over 40 years later, when there is a rainy blustery day, we’ll say, “It’s an Old Witch and the Polka Dot Ribbon kind of day!! The story is fun and there’s a great recipe for pumpkin bread on the back cover. Buy the book for any child. They’ll love it.

This book is a classic from the 1970’s. It still holds up today and the illustrations are colorf and beautiful. There are two more books in this series. Old Witch Rescues Halloween is not in print, but worth finding to complete your collection!

WE have read this book to our grandchildren over the years and they have loved it. Now we are passing it on to our Great-grandsons. Fun book to read

This author’s books are wonderful. There’s a recipe in each one. I own these myself.I purchased some for my niece’s for gifts. They love them.

Another wonderful classic from my childhood. Harry and Wende Devlin's illustrations never disappoint; the New England architecture provides a perfect background to this Old Black Witch sequel. Purple House Press has made a lot of nostalgic middle aged persons happy by allowing us to share these gems with our own children. I hope they go on to reprint the Devlins' Old Witch title with the Halloween theme, as well as "How Fletcher was Hatched.

This might be a children's book. But as an adult I really enjoyed reading this book myself. I am so looking forward to baking the cake. Thank you for a great reading book

Old Black Witch is a fun character who likes to break the rules!

Family favourite! We read this book every fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween season and the cake recipe is in our top 5 desserts of all time!!! Will pass in on to our kiddos and I know they will pass it on too!
