If you are interested in the British SAS you should check out this book.
I have had an interest in Military Special Forces units for more than fifty years. I have read numerous books in the past about the U.S. Army’s Rangers, and the U.S. Navy SEALS. I have also read a few books about the British SAS and other special units. I recently purchased this slick 223 page soft cover book (SAS COMBAT HANDBOOK BY BARRY DAVIES, BEM) from Amazon for a bargain price.I found this book to be interesting and highly informative about the numerous missions this elite group had participated in over the years. Like all the American Special Forces units, the SAS have been assigned to various specialized activities. They have also worked with our U.S. Navy SEALs in some assignments. This book is organized into ten detailed chapters covering the following areas: SAS founded, SAS selection, Borneo, Oman, Falklands War, Hostage rescue, Northern Ireland, Surveillance & intelligence gathering, the gulf wars and Afghanistan. If you are a military buff, and interested in learning about the British SAS and missions they have been employed in over the years this is a book you should check out. I found it to be an informative read.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Tactical Principles of the most effective combative systems)

Historical not tactics based
This book is more historical than SAS techniques and skills to increase personal readiness. Was looking for more strategy and skills for use by me.
